It is unconscionable that as many Atlasians go hungry, Atlasian dollars are spent on maintaining and expanding our military presence abroad. We should not be intimately involved in the domestic affairs of other nations as an occupying force.

As per the President's suggestion and in the interest of getting this legislation to his desk, I am offering the following as an amendment:
This bill is unlikely to reach the President's desk before I leave office, but if it did, I would need to see the following changes, at a minimum, before signing it.

I would support this amendment, along with an elimination of clauses 1, 2, the rest of 6, and 7.

Foreign Aid reduction is something I support strongly, and while I am aware total elimination isn't likely, let's actually talk about some sort of reform instead of just saying no to this bill.

I'm initially skeptical of this bill but I'll need to read through our foreign military aid disbursements to be sure. Section 7 could use a definition of war zone too - is the Gulf of Aden, for instance, a war zone?

I cannot support the original legislation, but I would it if the amendment passes.

Military aid isn't always a bad thing, so I think we should take the president's advice and put down some conditions when it is acceptable (say when the UN approves an action etc). Other than that I support this bill, especially section 3.

Did you have an amendment to address this?
