And I doubt they're not tapping the United States' phone (or would if they could).

The point of spying agencies is to gather information on foreign governments. This isn't controversial.

sign... you know you really don't do yourself a favour by behaving pissed over foreigners being insulted over you breaking international agreements and their laws, no matter how much it's the job of you espionage agencies.

The first rule of spying is not getting caught, the second one is to apoligise when getting caught and the last one is to not being douchebag about it.

As far as we know, the NSA maintains a couple of installations on German territory. Currently, they're also in the process of building a new complex in Wiesbaden, I think. Just close them down and expel the people who work there. Can't be that hard to do. They're foreigners, revoke their residence permit for christ's sake.

Make some of them disappear, maybe they will get the message then.
