So basically, I believe the Governor, and the President made some good points about taking away funding, while I still believe that tolls can be a burden. So I think the best way to solve both problems is to ensure citizens of the Northeast don't have to pay to use the tolls, for travel they absolutely need to make. And the increased regular fee, is to ensure that the region, municipalities, and states don't lose revenue on tolls, while ensuring those who must use the toll don't get stuck with an unnecessary burden.

Against. The right to freedom of movement is absolute. And this bill apparently targets the unemployed -- ie those who are hardest hit by tolls.

Are you in favor of abolishing gas taxes? Because that is an extra fee directly tied to movement.

Bring it to court Butafly or pipe up Butafly. I strongly support Matt's bill.

Why not make the E-Z Pass available to everyone who wants one rather than just for work or education and charge a yearly or quarterly or whatever rate to own one that is slightly discounted from the cost of using a toll?

Well, to be honest, I was merely trying to slash the cost for those who must travel on a regular basis. In theory that could work as well, also to address Butafly's point, we could also slash the fee for low income Northeasterners.

Slash the cost for low income NE residents and I'll support the bill.

I like Dr. Cynic's idea. It's a bit simpler than the original bill IMO.

Cynic suggested under $40,000 as a good point to define low income, which I agree with, if no one has objections to this, I'll amend the bill.
