It doesn't.

She didn't hear that Schulz was commemorating the terror victims.

CDU are really pushovers, giving the Foreign, Finance, and Justice ministries to the SPD who are in a bigger pickle than they are...laughing stock.

Shame they didn't keep the Finance ministry away from the hands of Scholz the clown

More like the SPD recognize that at least for the moment, a coalition deal is political seppuku. They probably demanded all these high up ministries to at least ensure that the sacrifice was not in vain.

She knew that Schulz was about to pretend to show his compassion for the Barcelona victims. Nevertheless she was laughing, which shows her lack of compassion.
Instead of expressing regret for her irreverent attitude towards the victims of the attack, she called her critics detractors and right-wing agitators the next day.

RIP SPD. A shame that one of Europe's oldest parties will go out like this Sad Hope the SPD base rejects the coalition but at this point I can't expect anything.

Press F to pay respects.

Well, the video was primarily used by the right-wing extremist scene for propaganda purposes, so she was correct about that.

This is just amazing. The CDU has not only dropped any pretense of being a conservative party, it has now ceded virtually all major ministries to the SPD in an effort to somehow keep Merkel in power for another 4 years. All the AfD now has to do is sit back and enjoy its rising poll numbers.

True. I don't agree with Alexander Gauland on many things, but he was completely right in his assessment that the CDU has become an empty shell. Merkel even missed to include some refreshing leaders such as Jens Spahn or David McAllister. Klöckner is a failed politican, who gets rewarded after losing two elections in her state.

Do you think their is any room for a nationwide party left of the AFD but more conservative then the CDU? Could the FDP take some of that space?

My impression is that up to a certain degree the FDP already fulfilled that role in the last federal election. If I remember correctly at some point Lindner even called his FDP the "alternative to the Alternative".

That being said the political spectrum has much more than one dimension and the FDP with its economic liberalism (in the European sense) won't be able to take all of the space between CDU and AfD.

Doesn't seem as if the CDU have made many policy concessions at all. They just gave the SPD some good positions.

How is Scholz? Will he be like Dijsselbloem?

Kind of ironic that the people who complain about the lack of democratic understanding of right wing populists then carry on to create a government with minority support in recent polls and the party with the biggest popularity drop in their history holding most of the key ministries.

While a renewed Grand coalition doesn't instill me with much enthusiasm either, your comment is insofar incorrect that CDU/CSU and SPD have only lost their majority in one of the eight major polling institutes. And that was only the latest poll of said institute. Also, in polls which ask whether you approve or disapprove of a renewed grand coalition, more people usually approve than disapprove. That doesn't seem to be much of an argument to not form another Grand coalition then.

Based on her previous work in the NSU and Edathy investigative committees I'd rather see Högl at Justice. She seems a bit wasted at Labour.

Meanwhile, Sigmar Gabriel has become furious.
In an interview, he started on at the party leadership about their lack of appreciation of his work.
Moreover, he accused them of breaking their plighted word. What word he meant, he left the interviewers in the dark about.

At the end of the interview he couldn't help taking a pot shot at Saint Martin; Siggi told the interviewer that his little daughter is supposed to have said that: "Daddy, you needn't be sad. You'll now have more time to spend with us. That is better than with the man with the facial hair." 😂

Do you mean if he's gonna act mercilessly towards Southern Europe?
At least he is considered fiscally quite conservative for a SPD member; he is one of the most prominent members of the neoliberal Seeheimer Kreis. Plus, he was the last Social Democrat to win a majority of MPs for his party in a statewide election.

BILD are reporting that SPD leaders are essentially telling Schulz to get lost and not accept the post of foreign minister.

Can't find anywhere information about his membership in Seeheimer Kreis, where did you find that info?
