I had talked to TNF about this, something I obviously support, but I will re-bring up some of the smaller divergences/issues I had in order to make this a bit more compatible.

Looks good! I do think we need to raise the taxes on the substances though.

Atlasian drug law needs to be settled once and for all. That's why I've introduced this very progressive bill which effectively legalizes all drug use and makes drugs commercially available. I am willing to accept amendments to make the bill more workable.

I agree with all of this, except Section 3.1. I have serious problem legalizing hard drugs like heroin. I agree that hard drug users shouldn't be put in jail, but I don't think we should endorse straight up acceptance either. I would be in favor of decriminalization of the use of those listed in Section 3.1 with than mandatory rehab and/or use Safe Injection Centers with the goal of waning the user off addiction. Also I think those involve with the production and sale of these types of drugs should still see jail time.

I'm opposed to raising these taxes.

There absolutely no way in hell I will vote for this. I understand Atlasia has adopted a very utilitarian ethical system where anything that does not directly harm someone else is popularly regarded as licit; however, we cannot pretend that legalization of very dangerous substances such as heroin or PCP. I see no compelling need to make such substances more accessible to the general public.

Why is beer and wine different ages than commercial liqours?

Also my first amendment will have to do with the drug testing bit.

Having a legal age only mean legal age of purchase doesn't make so much sense to me, as well as having multiple ages. I think a clean cut 18 works.

I can't support your amendment supporting drug testing if you include cannabis in it. If you make an exception for Cannabis, I will support it. BTW, that is the current law right now. Nothing that is legal can be used in a drug test against you. I understand that if we make hard drugs legal, we still have to ensure workers don't have to hire druggies. But we need an exception for Cannabis, otherwise I think we should require drug testing for alcohol and tobacco too.

If the exception for cannabis is the current law, then nothing changes.

I would still rather be safe than sorry. The exception for cannabis should be explicitly mentioned in this bill I think.

Fair enough, I will make that small change before TNF gets a look at it.

Amendment is hostile. Sorry Max, but I'm pretty adamant about lowering the overall ages for drugs that teenagers are already doing. We might as well take the criminal element out of purchasing cigarettes, beer, wine, and pot.

Fair enough, I think I was kind of expecting hostility to my measure. If this measure fails in the Senate, I think I may still come back with some of the more minor changes I made (the age 18 stuff, drug testing).
