I think it's pretty obvious, but I'm curious to see how AF members (specifically our blue avatars) vote.

The party that is actually instigating the shutdown.

If I could choose both parties I would choose that, but Obama and his colleagues don't want to negotiate on anything when it comes to debt ceiling, he said it clear and loud. In the late 1990's, I would have blamed the republicans because Clinton actually cared about making things work in bipartisan ways, even if it was tough. Because of that I'm Lean Obama/Democrats (R).

I'm expecting it to be a 3-1 or a 4-1 blame on republicans though. All D's will say republicans, 80-90% of I's will say republicans, and about half of R's will say republicans.

As I've said multiple times, Obama deserves some blame because he's bargained with these terrorists before. But, obviously, the Republicans are more to blame. It's their damn shutdown...

I'll be back to my usual blue avatar when this whole thing's over.  Until then, my support is with the sane party.

Agreed, which is why he really needs to stand firm now.  The longer this goes, the better for the nation, because it will lead to the purge of the crazies.  If the Peter Kings win out now, they'll just get blasted by the Cruzes and we won't learn our lesson.  If this actually harms the economy, the crazies won't be able to do this again, and we'll be better off.  At this point, we need to hit rock bottom.

It's 2011 all over again: Instead of a simple continuting resolution, they just had to tie defunding Obamacare to it.

The PPACA was a big issue in the 2012 elections, and Republicans lost. They are sore losers and refuse to accept it.

It is obviously the Republicans fault, because they are to blame for trying a dirty trick to repeal a law that has been okayed by Congress, the Supreme Court, signed by the President, AND been validated by the vote of the American people.

The party that only cares about the shutdown because they're afraid of getting blamed for it.

True, his idiocy in 2011 emboldened Congressional Republicans to make even more extortions.

"Ted Cruz" ought to be a separate option in this poll.

Meh.  Ted Cruz only has the influence he does because the Republicans let him have it.

The Republicans let him have it because the Republican primary voters will tear them to pieces otherwise. How would you like to have to answer to those asylum inmates?

Well, I could go into a long speech about the importance of courage and integrity in politics, but I doubt it will make much of a difference. Tongue  The bottom line is that Republicans have only themselves to blame for this, and the kooks who got them in power should be kicking themselves right now... but they won't.

If the party weren't filled with so many spineless fools and boneheads, they wouldn't be dragged by the nose every couple of years by Ted Cruz or Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck. A party led by fads and celebrities can not stand. This should be a god damn wake up call to these retards.

Republicans, because they are very aware that their demands were not going to be met. Besides, the shutdown doesn't even stop Obamacare, so it's a moot point.
