What are your thoughts?

This was first mentioned at PMQs on Wednesday. The second Howard started talking about it the words "Jennifer's Ear" went through my mind.

The whole thing is disgraceful and yet another reason why Howard should never become PM

I agree. Rank opportunism on the part of the Tory Leader. Of course, the NHS isn't perfect and cases like this do arise. They say her op was cancelled 7 times, the Trust says 3. As Blair said it's unacceptable - but the Tories don't have the solution

It seems to have backfired on the Tories: the only party trusted to run the NHS is Labour and I reckon Labour have been looking for an excuse to bang on about the NHS for a while.

And of course, where did Blair go make his big speech about the state of the NHS in England...at the SCOTTISH conference! Scotlands waiting lists are up and while it is a devolved issue it smacks of bleating!

I wouldn't trust the Tories to run anything, especially the NHS and, more  importantly, the economy.  Howard showed his true colours, when he proved himself an opportunist on the issue of national security. With a bit of luck, the House of Lords hasn't signed its own death warrant

By the sounds of it an 80% elected Upper House is likely fairly soon

And it wouldn't be a day too soon. Wait a minute, (correction). Did I say  the House of Lords hasn't signed its own death warrant, I meant to say HAS!
