MAP SUBMISSION PERIOD TERMINATES: 10/19/13 01:31:28 AM ET

MAP VOTING PERIOD BEGINS: 10/19/13 01:31:29 AM ET [/b][/center]

Here is a copy of the reference sheet that will be used for the vote, which begins in less than 24 hours - please review for errors and the like. I have eight maps on here (by my count, there were nine submissions; Scott/Fritz both submitted the same map). I tried to standardize the color schemes of each. It'd also be helpful if each person could clarify how Oceania/Puerto Rico are distributed.

I don't mean to imply that I would leave Atlas in a huff if I don't get my way.  I'm saying that adopting a map that lumps my state in with Florida or California pretty much negates the purpose of regions completely.  I would have no interest in participating in such a region, where water usage and earthquake or hurricane preparedness are a big deal... and likely I'd just kinda fade away and fall off the registration roles.

My preferences.

1.  Map 8
2.  Map 1 (though this will pretty much ruin any chances of the Dakotas being relevant to the game)
3.  Map 4
4.  Map 6
5.  Map 5
6.  Map 2/3
7.  Map 9
8.  Map 7

Why should the Dakotas be relevant?

Just so everyone's clear: we're not voting right now. I keep seeing everyone posting prefs - the 'Final Day' mention was for submissions, not for voting. Voting begins later this evening and will also be score voting.

Since it appears that everyone misunderstood this, I would suggest that those "votes" that have been cast, and were obviously intended to be votes, should be counted as such (rather than making us all vote again).

Unfortunately, no one used the correct format of voting Tongue:

  • CARCA will serve as a public convention for all who support regional consolidation.
.
  • CARCA's sole purpose for existence is to facilitate discussion, deliberation and a vote among the convention members to produce one officially endorsed three-region map.
.
  • Each convention member may submit one three-region map proposal.
.
  • The submission period shall last for 168 hours and shall commence as soon as sixteen individuals (10% of pop) have joined this convention.
.
  • Each submission shall be assigned a name in the format of 'Map X', where 'X' is the chronological order in which the proposed map was submitted.
.
  • The method of the vote shall be score voting (0-9), with 9 being the most favorable and 0 being the least favorable. The map with the highest overall score at the conclusion of the vote will be adopted as the endorsed map of CARCA.
.
  • All submitted three-region proposals shall be put to a vote.
.
  • The vote shall commence immediately following the end of the submission period and shall also last for 168 hours, or until 100% of convention members have voted.
.
  • Any proponent of regional consolidation who makes the pledge outlined below shall be considered a member of CARCA following their affirmation, so long as they affirm prior to the commencement of the vote.

FYI: vote opens in one hour.

CARCA ENDORSEMENT BALLOT:

PLEASE READ: The method of this vote is score voting (0-9), not PR-STV. Please rank each map based on your preference, with 0 being the least favorable and 9 being the most favorable. Multiple maps can be assigned the same number, unlike PR-STV.

Voting will commence immediately and will last for 168 hours, or until all 17 CARCA convention members at the time of the opening of this voting booth have voted. The map with the highest overall score at the end of the vote will automatically be endorsed as the selected map of this convention.

I thought nine was the highest score you could give a map.

Tried to make a map that didn't really preserve any region:

Red: 57
Blue: 51
Green: 57

This map may well simply make no one happy, but just thought I'd submit it Tongue

This is my favorite map so far!!!

What do so many people like map 5? IMO it looks really stupid.

It's the only map that divides all regions which is an important issue for me.
