This is the most insane, out of touch and contemptuous reaction to losing an election since the South seceded.

Much of it is special interest legislation. Talk about dirty tricks!

Decades of Republican (or Republican-influenced, at least) policies have led to this point, so it's not like they are doing anything unusual now.

It's official, these guys are $&*@ing nuts.

The Tea Party nutjobs need to switch over to the Constitution Party so they can be ignored and the GOP becomes halfway sane again.

Who are the 17 most moderate Republicans in the House who can vote to end this lunacy?

If the American people wanted Mitt Romney's platform, I'm pretty sure they would have voted for...Mitt Romney.

So... They basically want Obama to become a Tea Party Republican in return for not demolishing the economy, right? That's absurd. Who on earth thinks that those demands are reasonable?

Why are they just rallying around Romney now? Jeeze, a little help earlier might've come in handy...

Okay. Republicans are starting with Romney's platform. That's how good negotiators do it. You start from somewhere and move to somewhere else.

Don't tell me Obama won't negiotiate, because all of you Democrats should know his playbook by now.

Republicans can demand whatever they want as a bargaining position.  The problem is the bargaining position combined with the default threat.  It's a position of: Do what I want or else I'll do something that hurts everyone.  Unless Republicans legitimately want to default, they can't reasonably make demands with that as a threat.

I read an article in National Review I think today that 10-15 House Republicans refuse to vote to raise the debt limit, no matter what. What a trainwreck of a party.

It's cute that they're demanding things.  Maybe if they stomp their feet and turn beet red and scream it'll make a difference!

No, it's terrifying, because those temper tantrums have a non-zero chance of wrecking the world's economy.

Boehners going to have to accept that he doesn't control a unified party- there is no "Republican bargaining position" because the Republicans themselves are deeply divided between the sane ones and the knuckle draggers. As mentioned, the knuckle draggers wont accept anything except to drive over the cliff, so Boehners going to have to jettison them. Any compromise bill is going to have to go through the House with votes from members of both parties.

Since your sources are always so partisan here's an alternative. I think this is a more fair perception.

Time to tell the party that lost the House popular vote to go screw themselves.
