Kitteh's statements are of course beyond ridiculous (Kitteh, of course, campaigned on putting cat pictures in the Wiki, and was endorsed by Oakvale). I want to see this party thrive and be constructive, not go down the path those two have put before you, and so I am here to obtain your nomination for President. Keep an eye on my campaign thread, as we have a little more to go.

Choose Dr. Cynic or Snowstalker if you don't want me.

I absolutely supported Kitteh's protest campaign against the Pacific's counterproductive recall culture, and would do so again, but I digress.

Snowstalker's very own paternalistic leftist ideology.

I just ran a search, it seems he deleted that thread sadly.

I'm putting my name forward for the Labor nomination for President if you guys don't want DemPGH. To me, Labor should at least nominate an electable candidate. So, I ask my name be put on the ballot primary and for you to consider me ahead of a Federalist or an unelectable candidate.

I think DemPGH is electable, and so far I support his candidacy.

I agree. I merely put myself forward as the alternative if people didn't want him to keep an unelectable candidate from getting the nod.

Dr Cynic, if you win the nomination, do you intend to continue to run, against DemPGH? Or will you drop out and endorse him after the convention? I'm confused by what your candidacy is trying to achieve, if you'd rather have DemPGH than yourself then why run?

If he wins the nomination, I will happily drop out. If I win, I will continue on. My candidacy would simply be to give Labor a decent nominee. I feel DemPGH should be that nominee. But if he's not, I'd rather give the party an actual nominee. If we nominate Snowstalker even, I would not continue on, because I feel it's important Labor has a nominee.

I object to having a vote just yet. We should let each of the candidates address the convention and tell us what they'd bring to the table.

I'll address the convention...

Fellow Laborites, Comrades... I have put my name forward for nomination for only one reason. That is to protect the Labor Party itself. I feel it would be an awful idea for Labor not to have its own nominee when the Federalists and Progressive Union will. In all honesty, I believe DemPGH and SirNick should be the Labor ticket. However, the number of people who were openly hostile to DemPGH's candidacy and polling suggested that many in Labor were more willing to have a Federalist as the nominee than DemPGH. On top of that, we have seen some NMAM encroachment on our party. I like Snowstalker as well, but I don't feel he could be an electable candidate.

Adam Griffin agreed to join a ticket with me for the purposes of the party ballot. I also felt he deserved to be on a ticket after the withdrawal of Bacon King. If DemPGH is not to your liking (I believe he should be though), then consider me as the only other potential Labor candidate who can run an electable campaign. I ask the Labor Party to consider DemPGH as their first option, but if not, consider me as a second. I can't promise to win, but what's important is that the party has a nominee who truly will represent the Labor banner and not another party's.

Thank you.

The by-laws as currently written, we can only endorse a Labor member. So our only current choices are Snowstalker, DRJ and Dr. Cynic.

If there is only one Labor candidate in the race, does he/she get the official party endorsement automatically?

Due to incompetence by the Chairman (I'm so sorry!), I am declaring a Labor emergency and bypassing the by-laws to start the Labor Primary right now. Election will last 3 days and will close on Thursday at 8:00pm Eastern Time.

I would like to address the convention.

This party has been a live, constructive fortress for progressivism, and I want to help it remain that way. Look, I've heard from a few of you - friend and foe alike - and I've been pleasantly surprised by what you have had to say to me. Here's what I want to say: Let's just work together. Every day is a new day, and if you give me a chance I'll give you a chance. If you work with me, I'll work with you. It must be that way.

On issues, I'll support regional consolidation (4 or 3 regions) that has broad support and which does not leave an overwhelming number of people complaining.

Civil Rights: In short, choice is power! A woman’s right to choose, the rights of homosexuals to enjoy the same benefits as heterosexuals, racial equality, the right to recreate with legal substances on one’s own: I will allow none of these to be undermined.

Labor: Unions built the middle class, and the possibility of a union maintains the middle class. In all things the economy must benefit and work for the little guy more so than the elite. A surplus and a strong corporate balance sheet are of little tangible benefit if the workers do not feel either one.

So now let's go!
