Remind me again about Libertarians being "socially liberal."

Not all libertarians are Ron Paul? (in fact, I'd say most aren't)

It's the difference between political and cultural views; what you think the government should enforce versus what you think people should do.

Most of the women who are well-educated enough to provide a suitable homeschool education to their children make too much money to give up their career for that.

Ron Paul, then, should start supporting an economic policy that allows single-earner households to actually exist in this country again, rather than one that continues to decimate the middle class.

I tend to agree. There's been a gutting of the family in the poorer parts of society. Stagnant/declining lower class income isn't solely responsible for it, but it definitely played a large part.

And what is so wrong with being a stay at home mother again?? He didn't say that women should be banned from working.

Nothing wrong with it if your husband makes enough money to support the typical two parent/two child family on his income alone. But most husbands can't.

Nucleic family education is highly inefficient. It throws one educated, full time worker at the task of educating the children of one family. There is a far easier way to do private, non institutional education; in a community of 50 nuclear families there are 100 adults. If only 5 of these adults become full time teachers, they can teach 100 children at a student-teacher ratio of 1:20 and a typical, replacement level total fertility rate of 2. Hence such a community can gain control of its own children's education even while 95% of the families are drawing in two incomes, which is a far higher proportion than current United States families that rely on public schooling.

So-called defender of "personal liberty".

Genuine libertarians do exist, but many "libertarians" are clearly SoCons.

Paul is all about personal liberty.  The right of every man and boy to use their women as they please should not be infringed.

Or have their kids do it as lessons in "computer literacy".

Aren't libertarians supposed to keep their mouths shut about what other people SHOULD do? I thought they were supposed to be about respecting personal choice.

There's a deep strain of misogyny in libertarianism, which explains why literally no women are libertarians.

Basically, this, plus the fact that Ron Paul is in his 70s and personally socially conservative. Of course he's going to be all "women should be mothers and nothing else".

Ron Paul says that some parents may want to spend time teaching their children instead of in wage labor, and the American center-left goes nuts.

My mother isn't qualified to teach anything. She's a nice lady, but I'm glad she wasn't my teacher because she wasn't qualified to do it.

Sure, that's what you'd like it to mean. But you're not Stalin--yet. You can't just erase the past and purge your enemies, even if said enemies are yourself from a year ago.
