Yes.

I think it's become like the abortion issue in the past.  Simply a non-starter to be against gay marriage in the Democratic party on the national level.

I don't think so, Vincent Sheheen in SC is anti-gay. Obviously they could either spell out their true belief (something politicians rarely do to avoid trouble in primaries) or they could support (or anti-support) the issue if its popular in the area. In today's politics, almost all republicans and democrats follow party line, which is pretty pathetic. It would be a world better if we elected politicians for their uniqueness.

Opposite question: Is it unacceptable to be pro-gay marriage and be a republican?

No. If a candidate was otherwise liberal, he or she could win the national nomination.

Do you have any inside info that Sheheen is planning to run for president?

What's it like on the other side?

Probably not nationally, but you'd be able to win a state-wide nomination most places.

If they are scaring away people like you, then they deserve a medal for doing God's work.

I doubt you're either religious or conservative. You're just a stupid, unfunny and boring troll.

At the national level, yes.

At the state level, depends on the state.

Moderates have purged themselves of opposition to same-sex marriage.

Read page 8 of this: http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2013/images/06/20/rel7d.pdf

Might want to brush up on the facts before spouting such inane garbage in the future.

Thank you for the data. Any American not supporting marriage equality (a mere 39%) is out of the mainstream, and any national Democratic candidate who does not support marriage equality is in a very small minority of that party.

So to answer the original question, a resounding yes.

They change their minds in large numbers on an issue.
