What politicians have you met?

I have only met one, and it happened a few minutes ago. I found a poster for the Australian Sex Party near a voting area and, feeling like a massive dork, grabbed it and asked around to know if I could have it. I was pointed towards the actual local candidate for the Sex Party, Lachlan Smith. So I met him. And it was all quite awkward and embarrassing like most interactions I have. But I am feeling pretty chuffed anyway. I would have voted for him.

Now I figure you all will have met more than me by a long way. Got any stories behind them?

This year as far as I can remember I've met Peer Steinbrueck, Lord Myners and another Labour MP.
My uncle was hosting Laura Tyson and David Miliband at his house a couple of months back but I didn't go to meet them.

I didn't meet him face-to-face, but I did see my Congressman several years when I went to Washington, DC. It was actually in the House chamber, where our class actually got to sit in the seats of the House of Representatives (a couple of the teachers got to sit in the Speaker's chair). He's the one that got us in. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures.

When I met Gary Johnson, it was at a small event, and I spoke with at length.  I met Rudy when I was in the fourth grade when my grandma surprised me and too me to see him.

As in actually met and had a chance to speak with, Strom is the most important one I've had the occasion to do that with, tho it was some three decades ago when I was in high school.

I also met Ray Nagin as a kid when he was first running for mayor of New Orleans. I have an uncle and a good family friend in the LA Legislature, so I guess that counts!

I was a College Democrats convention over the summer and these people spoke, but I didn't

Ron Paul also came to LSU when he was running in 2012, so I got to see him too.
