An Announcement from the Chair

Members,
I feel it is my duty to inform you that I will not be seeking re-election to the position as Chair of the Party at our next convention. I have a growing number of RL issues (Job, family) which will limit my time on Atlasia. With my possible appointment as SoIA, I fear that if I continue all of my current functions I will be overstretched, I am therefore handing the torch to another progressive. I ask members who are willing to step forward to let me know ahead of time, and then as a team we can tackle the convention together.
Thank you,
GAworth

Due to my husband not seeking re-election to his chairmanship, I will be running for the Progressive Union chair.

I hope to see candidates on both the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship, because most of these parties here got only one candidate running, and it's very uninteresting.

Everybody cool? Okay. I would not describe any party as thriving; some have more zombies and call-up votes than others, that's all. Keep the dream alive.

Points is. . .

If we do not run anyone for President, I want to be considered for the nomination - that is, if there is not an actual leftist in the race. I'll have some fun with it, but you know I'll be serious. 0:) Cool

Can we close the vote now?

That said, if Duke is defeated and you end up running you'll have my full support, DemPGH! The only thing I regret about running for President in October is that I likely took votes that might have voted for you, and you certainly deserved to be President.

I'm slightly confused as to how I wouldn't be considered an "actual leftist". This is not meant to prevent you from running, for the record, but this isn't really a criticism I've heard before, so I'm surprised to hear it.

Great to see that you have completely failed to follow party rules when it comes to endorsement votes. I'm sure that this is deliberate, and it really only shows that you shouldn't be allowed to hold positions of responsibility if you're willing to actually ignore the rules.

I'm sorry, I forgot that we had the automatic endorsement vote, let me add you in here...

Also: I'm just adding it up, nobody else did it, I actually have no power in this party

How can you endorse six candidates for the Mideast Assembly? How many positions are there?

Our endorsement system is a little bit problematic... We need to change it!

For real, folks: If the party actually wants someone to run as a protest candidate or what have you, and will get behind them, I'll give it some quick, serious thinking and make a decision within about two hours. If the party is not looking for someone, then I won't. Even if the odds of winning are long, I don't think it's a good idea not to run someone (sends a very bad signal because if you can't coalesce around one of your own, whoever it may be, it looks bad), but if there are other people in other parties that are attractive, then that's the call and we'll go with that.

If I were to run a campaign without party support it would be a waste of my time because I would be just amusing myself, and no one would understand it, or else it would be just me being a jerk. In other words, it wouldn't be serious.

I can confirm that I will run for Pacific Senate. I hope you will support me.

I will pursue an agenda that is left-of-center flexible and about which I will post in the coming days and weeks. I will also post about my history in defending the Pacific.

Thank you!

After much thinking, my machiavellian side finally went back from the dead and I decided that, despite the potential troubles with starting college in March, I want to give it a try as Chair. I will be running for Progressive Chair in February!

An Announcement
My fellow Progressives,
It saddens me to say this, but I feel that I can no longer maintain the position of chair. I apologize for this, but has been long in the making. I feel that I do not maintain the confidence of the party and that with developments in my real life I do not have the proper amount of time to continue to serve the party. I will remain neutral on the selection of the next chair. I wish PJ the best as interim chair.
Parting thoughts
We agreed that we would not a Presidential Candidate and instead focus on the Senate and Governors races.
All members should be treated with respect.
If you want the party to change or reform, then get involved and don't just stand on the sidelines.
If we agree on a policy, then we must all stick to it.
The Shadow Cabinet has a purpose, do not scrap it.
