Here's a plank:

[quote]
Euthanasia

The Progressive Union recognizes that people come into certain circumstances where they are in an irreversible painful disease or coma. Therefore, we support Euthanasia as a right for those who have an ailment causing them permanent pain that significantly hinders them in life, should they have the mental ability to decide.

Hi. I'd like to be considered for your endorsement. Please ask me anything if you are unsure about my candidacy. Cheesy

Oops! I'll amend it to say:

Not sure if it's been done yet, but I'd like to advocate on behalf of the DemPGH/SirNick campaign.  I have endorsed their candidacy, and I hope my party considers supporting this excellent team for the presidency.

We will be considering endorsements during the convention, at the Convention you can advocate for them. Smiley

Our platform is coming along nicely! I'd still like to see planks on LGBT rights, abortion, drugs, and free-trade, among others; if GAworth doesn't mind, I'll rewrite his planks to fit the format of the others as well (already fixed some minor wording issues).

Remember, if you disagree with one of these planks, write up a counter-proposal! I'd love to see a healthy debate.

I liked the Light Party's plank on LGBT so I used it as a base and edited a bit.

In keeping with the tradition of upholding justice and equality, we fully believe that members of the LGBT community are entitled to the same rights and privileges as every other Atlasian citizen, including the ability to live loving and happy lives.  This extends beyond marriage equality as well as the movement to secure equal treatment under the law for same-sex couples and individuals. We believe the end goal should be a society where LGBT individuals are considered in the same light as everyone else.

Perfect.

How do you all feel about incorporating the Light Party's stance on scientific advancement into the platform?  That was an issue the Light Party emphasized on whereas other parties did not, and I think we should affirm our commitment to scientific advancement with this platform.

A section promoting freedom of religion/voluntary prayer in schools might be a good idea too, but I don't want to hijack the whole thing. Tongue

I would say propose it, if members object, then they should offer a different option.
