My state map hasn't changed recently, but here's where my county map currently stands:

Pink: Lived in
Orange: Traveled to
Yellow: Briefly stopped in
Green: Driven through without stopping

Updated for a number of trips since July. IN is now completely visited. The total number of visited counties is 2073.

Red for residences. Dark blue for overnight stay. Light blue for intentional destinations. Green for drive through (including meal stops). Yellow for train, boat or airport only.

Here's the state level view.

90% (resided): IL, IA, MA, MN, NE, NY, TX
80% (6 or more visits): AL, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MO, NH, NJ, NC, OH, PA, RI, SD, TN, UT, VA, WI, WV
70% (5 visits): MS, VT, WA, WY
60% (4 visits): AZ, AR, ID, MT, ND, OK
50% (3 visits): NV, SC
40% (2 visits): LA, NM, OR
30% (1 visit): HI
not yet visited: AK
If blue, then all counties have been visited in the state

That's a lot of counties... is it on your bucket list to visit all of them?

I've always liked road trips, especially when I could get off the interstates. In 2007 I really started to track my counties more carefully, and then started to look for opportunities to visit new ones. Last year I decided that seeing them all was a goal that I could reasonably set. There are currently 3142 county equivalents by the Census definition so I'm not even 2/3 of the way through them yet, though I should hit that 2/3 mark by the end of the year.

That's a pretty ambitious goal... good luck with it!
