I watched the 1999 solar eclipse in Burgenland. We were at the border crossing on our way to Szombathely Hungary. The eclipse was so far along (90%) that the guards wanted to watch so no one could pass. I got out my camera and telephoto lens (400 mm) and took pictures from the border.

I've been in or through all the Austrian states except Carinthia.

Ha, that was the same year I would have gone there. I vaguely remember the eclipse.
