Good news (assuming everything is mostly factual) if the two countries are working closer than ever to get rid of asshats that want nothing more than perpetual war.

Is our standard of proof not a tad low when we accept, without doubt, unnamed witnesses in Egyptian state media?

I mean, yeah, these guys were probably up to no good; but I find the increasingly standardised approval of targetted killings by various state powers, without any real evidence or pretence to produce evidence - just a simple declaration of suspected militancy, to be an unfortunate trend.

So they should NOT blow up people about to launch a rocket at civilians?

So we should just accept without question all claims by state actors (or even unnamed sources close to state actors) that people they kill have rocket launchers and are planning civilian attacks, if they say so?

Do you really not believe there are people in the Sinai with rockets that want to fire them at Israeli civilians?

Now, of course we shouldn't accept EVERY claim EVERY state makes when they kill people, but in this case at least, we can be fairly certain there were bad guys setting up a rocket in a place where it's illegal to do so, without approval of the governing body and were blown up by the state the rockets were aimed at.  If you have evidence it was a bunch of hippies having a picnic (or anything other than bad guys up to no good) I'll go protest in front of the Israeli embassy with you.

Oh, and co-workers of the 5 dead, in the known terror group Jihadi Shura Council have made a call to avenge their dead.

These are bad guys, no doubt about it.  If you doubt me, feel free to Google the group.

I'm now not sure if you actually read my posts or not, as your interpretation of them is quite removed from what I would have thought possible.

Of course, I don't deny there are such people.
Nor do I deny the rights of states to act legitimately in self-defence.
(Nor do I believe anything contrary to the above could reasonably be inferred from my posts.)

I'm just saying that it's nice to have actual evidence in support of such justification, before cheerleading such actions too loudly.

You seem quite excitable about my using the very same term your original source used in describing the dead - 'suspected' militants/bad guys. I don't understand your decision to ignore the term when used by the NY Times, but then decide that I'm simply denying that there are bad guys at all in Egypt for using exactly the same terminology.

You can add "suspected" if you want I suppose and I probably shouldn't argue with you over the term, but they were clearly bad guys doing bad guy things when they were killed.
