Dave may have existed in the past, but now it would seem he is either no more or simply left us. To know why we are it this point, where Dave would abandon us, we must understand the past.

From what I gather, in the beginning there was Dave Leip. Dave by himself and maps and much data of past elections. He was perfectly happy with his maps and needed nothing else, but with his joy so overflowing had to share it. He created the Atlas forum, the boards and the child boards, the predictions and the poll maps. And for a while he would speak directly o his people. All was good. Then as his people grew in number they became rebellious. Dave sent out his prophets, the "mods" to lead his people back towards the path of righteous posts, and for a while all was good again. Soon the rebellious posters grew in number again and were at odds with the prophets. "Who are you to tell us what to do!?" the people would cry, while the prophets declared that they acted on the authority of Dave.

Some concerned about the growing tension between the rebellious posters and the prophets began to demand a king, someone wise who could truly claim to act on the authority of Dave. Some warned against the notion as Dave was our rightful king. During this time Dave had been appearing to his people less and less, and usually to only answer large group prayers on the Atlas Board. Finally relenting to the people's demands, Dave gave the people what they wanted. In the form of Nym90 came the first and only ModAdmin. With a great a terrible power Nym90 set out to spread the word of Dave and to keep his people in line. While Nym placed the fear of Dave into many of the rebellious posters, some grew more cynical and began to doubt whether or not Dave even heard there prayers anymore. Some even went as far as to question the existence of an almighty Leip.

Whether Leip once existed and is now gone, or simply left us, all that is certain now is that Nym90 serves as the watchful protector over his people.

When it comes to Forum management, Mr. Leips has a "libertarian" lean, indeed a list that sometimes, seems close to an angle that might capsize the enterprise, but he is around for what interests him, and sometimes "appears" at the most unexpected places and times. He has effected almost a metaphysical presence, he is just that good at what he does.
