No, but here in DaBurgh, most of the technical schools mirror what Pittsburgh Public does....if Pittsburgh Public Schools close, they tend to follow.....except at Pitt/CMU/Duquesne.

Wait, Bushie is going to actual classes? I thought this was some self-taught at-home thing.

that's what Metro tech will do.  We follow the public school calendar and if they close for inclement weather, we will close as well most likely.

There is a teacher in the classroom mostly to answer questions.

A little good news,  my house paperwork has gone into final review so we should have a closing date in the next couple of days.

It's taken forever to sell that damn house! Hopefully you can use the proceeds to pay off your parents and some of your debt!

How much better off would you be if you'd taken Torie's advice on the house last year?

Its hard to say, really. You're comparing apples and oranges. I know foreclosure is not and was never an answer.  That looks bad on you for a decade.  The credit recovers after 7 years, but the reputation and stigma never recovers completely.  The short sale is not as bad and doesn't last as long.

1. If it's a short sale, there are no proceeds...
2. A short sale affects your credit in the exact same way a foreclosure does.

1.  What I mean by proceeds is the money we save from mortgage and utilities - approx $800 a month.
2.  Most short sales work that way, but my individual case has been assessed by certified experts and my impact won't be as severe and will only last 1-2 years.  The reason that most short sales are real damaging is from the late or missed payments that activated the short sale in the first place.  I have been on time on 100% of my mortgage payments, so my credit won't be hurt quite as bad.  The only thing it will prevent me from doing for 2 years is buying another home, but I can easily buy a car or rent an apartment should I need to, and both are very real possibilities in the next few months or years.

Memphis, we had this argument before. Bushie argues with stated facts and laws so it didn't deter him. He knows best. We know nothing. Wink

So, my suspension of disbelief now has to include an $800/month mortgage payment in addition to all the hotels, gas money, and fast food? I'm gonna have to call shenanigans on this whole affair. There's no way this is real.

When you suck on the govt teet with the Indian Health Service and then only eat McD's, beans, and rice, there's plenty of disposable income to waste.

My new working conjecture is that Bushie is some sort of savant, whose
talent is storytelling. Somehow, my brain can digest that version of things better.

The problem I see isn't so much in your arguments, but that you (talking to the forum at large, not you exclusively) seem to use too many "one size fits all" answers.  Many things happen different ways for different people.  There are very few cookie cutter arguments in the world.  Maybe I don't use enough cookie cutter arguments, but I know just as every human is different that every situation is different.  No two situations, no matter how similar, are exactly the same.

No one size fits all judgements, Lief. For his situation, that's a totally reasonable dinner.

The law doesn't twist for certain people (see Kenya). It is a cookie cutter type deal. They don't make exceptions (unless you're a female).

As for your house, this short sale will not be better than a foreclosure. If that's what you need to tell yourself in order to feel better, so be it, but don't expect it to fool us, silly boy.

Yep.  You can't get anything healthy when you go to "Cheddarland" to eat dinner.  Sad

You should have hired Dukey's mob law firm to handle your house.  They would have ensured an offer was made you couldn't refuse.  Smiley
