This thread seems slightly out of touch with South Dakota. Maybe if Daschle would've been re-elected he would've driven his old car from the 1986 ads back to Washington D.C. again. Tom Daschle had problems with his taxes.

Probably neither, but maybe lean Thune. In truth, I can't stand both. Thune looks like a nice boy,  is a religious conservative, and Daschle votes party line Democrat so that makes him irrelevent in my mind anywho.

I expected the people here to be more in touch with the voters of South Dakota.

We did send Daschle to the Senate three times, then he lost by only 1% to a very strong challenger, while Bush carried the state by 21%.  Daschle did much for South Dakota, and most residents generally liked him.  He is actually a moderate on abortion, since he voted to restrict late-term abortion.

I didn't really care for Daschle as Democratic Leader, but he'd easily get my vote in this race.

Daschle is moderate on some things but he was so vocal against Bush after 9/11 that he got what he deserved. I liked him after he lost until the tax scandal broke out after Obama won.
