I quoted it in the voting booth; I've also screenshotted it:

I despair that people have no respect for the voting booth.

Fortunately so does the Constitution: Pursuant to Article V, Clause 2:

"Upon the days of any election, no campaigning of any kind may take place in the voting booths in the texts of posts. Any person who partakes in campaigning for a particular candidate or candidates in the place of voting, shall have their ballot be counted as null and void."

I ask that Jake's prior vote be discounted.

I would like to say that it is nothing personal against Jake, I think he's a good guy, but I want a line drawn in the sand to say that our voting booths are sacrosanct.

I'm shocked the voting booth didn't explode again.

Id like to see where the constitution states that signatures are exempt.

Its in the clause I quoted; Specifically "no campaigning of any kind may take place in the voting booths in the texts of posts" (emphasis mine)

Ctrl+Print Screen, then paste it to whatever program you use.

You have any idea how easy it is to fake a screen shot?

Man, I don't know if it's just me, but the fantasy elections forum residents have really seemed to have evolved a "take no crap from anyone" attitude as of late.  I recognize that it's necessary in this instance, but it's starting to wear a little.

I personally think Jake should just delete his post (which he has still yet to do - I still consider making "Naso" big text campaigning) this should just be let go. It wasn't exactly huge campaigning.

I would have a different view if he had posted "VOTE NASO" in huge letters or argued with someone who voted for Nym90.

Haha, good to see you using Firefox.  Now, if you're truly an open source supporter, use Gaim, which can support multiple networks (ie AIM, MSN) in one nice, open soucre IM client.  Get it at gaim.sourceforge.net.

As for the actual issue...depends how serious we want to take fantasy elections.  It does go against the rules, but as for punishment, void ballot would make sense, even though it's a bit harsh.

Meh, I can't talk in proper sentences tonight...I need sleep.

If National elections used the Southeast standard that no second post of any type be allowed in voting threads, Harry, John Ford,  Jake, Peter Bell, nickshepDEM, and MHS2002 would all be having their votes disqualified right now.

Obviously I would never have posted in that thread had those regulations been in effect. I would certainly find those sort of regulations regarding the voting booth to be a good thing and I would hope that the Senate takes it up in the next session.

My opinion on this is that it wasn't campainging...he didn't say "VOTE NASO," and that some people need to take a chill pill and move on...this is supposed to be fun!

They changed that rule a while back.

...yeah, why not just work out who gets to be what in one teamspeak session and scrap the elections?
Since that seems to be what some - not all, far from it - people in the Freedom/Union/Republican camp want.

The word NASO is open to interpretation.  If we actually followed that clause in the Constitution, anybody with a campaign statement in their signature would have their vote invalidated for campaigning in that post.

...except that signatures are expressly exempted...and I was the one who urged for that exemption to be put in expressly back when we passed the first constitution.
