I'm a bit terrified my first election will be something boring like local council or a state election. Nothing less then Federal will do Smiley

It's probable my first election will be the 2006 Victorian state election, unless I decline to register within the first six months of turning 18, the window I'm granted. But then I run the risk of voting in a council election first, which is even worse.

Yes, been registered for a few years now. 

Was originally registered in Texas (you don't have to choose a party), now registered since late 2003 in Maryland as a Democrat.

Mass sweeps of housing I believe.  They cane everyone who hasn't voted. Hughento will be able to confirm this.

First time, a warning letter; second time a $50 dollar fine, and IIRC 5th time and no will to change=jail for like three days...
