Bayern vs. Raja Casablanca tonight at 20:30

I predict a 5-1 win for Bayern.

Napoli robbed of Scudetto chances by a ludicrous offsides call that negated a late goal. I guess there's still Coppa Italia and the fight for second place.

Rooting for Chelsea today. It will be great to see Arsenal down to fourth.

Wenger once again completely found out by Mou who was happy to win a point at our stadium. Hopefully we buy a striker who isn't horrible at scoring goals in January.

In one of the ugliest episodes of this kind for quite a while, Malky Mackay - who brought Cardiff to the top flight for the first time since the early 60s - has been sacked by Cardiff's atrocious foreign owner (Vincent Tan). British Football is in a sick state.

The issue is with the use of our football clubs as investments* and/or as private playthings by despicable international plutocrats, rather than with owners who are not British as such.

*Delusional investments. Football clubs are even less likely to make money than Opera Houses.

Yes but you emphasize that they're international plutocrats. As if there aren't Brits using teams as investments/private "playthings"...

Eh, Cardiff wouldn't even be in the Premier League without Tan's investments. And it's not like Mackay had been doing a particularly good job this season at least.

I guess it's a matter of approach. If you sell off all players, and finally find somebody willing to pay for a place in the League (probably 2nd Division by then, but might still be worth a bit), you could be able to generate some money.

Alternatively, the Club is named Bayern Munich, which has made a profit each year since their professional football department was converted into a joint stock company in 2002 (14.2 million Euros profit / 3% return on turnover in 2012/13). Borussia Dortmund's profit in 2012/13 was even 53.3 million Euros - enough to pay back all the debt the club had run up during its 2005-2008 financial and sportive crisis. Borussia Monchengladbach - 15.2 Million Euros Profit in 2011/2012 (Reuss sale to Dortmund). Even Clubs not playing internationally can be profitable: Mainz 05 (+7.5 m€ 2011/12), Freiburg (+ 6.2 m€ 2012/13), Nuremberg (+0.75m€ 2012/2013), relegated Greuther Fürth (+1.5 m€ 2012/13), 2nd-Division FC St. Pauli (+2.5 m€ 2012/13).

Schalke, OTOH, made 9 million Euro loss in 2012, Werder lost 8 million in 2012/13, Stuttgart -9.7 m€ (2012), Hamburger SV -9,8 m€ (2012/13), Hoffenheim -4.2 m€ (2012/13).

Yes but you emphasize that they're international plutocrats.

A statement of fact, I'm afraid. Ours is an American and his idiotic meddling is probably going to get us relegated.

One or two (that fat fyck Mike Ashley for instance), but mostly these people are foreigners.

Anyway, can't wait for Chelsea vs. Liverpool in the morning.

Giuseppe Rossi hobbles off with a possible knee sprain. Horrible. Just horrible. Sad

And the title race is over in Italy. Juventus will get their third star. Winning 3-0 after Roma secured two red cards in about two minutes. The latter was Castan pulling a Suarez and punching the ball off the goal line.

So this has been a nauseating weekend for sports all around for me.

Rossi expected to be out for only six to seven weeks. Most I saw was three months but that was either revised or a rumor. Good news. He's coming back to the U.S. for further evaluations.

It's a shame that we're only any good at cup matches, but I'll take the hilarity. It's better than nowt.
