While it's easy to imagine it being labeled a "freedom protocol" by a majority of voters, it looks like I'll be disagreeing with that idea.

The more I read in this rather short wikipedia article, the more sick it seems. Maybe I'm just oppressive and want infants (and those below the age of twelve!) to have awful qualities of life, but I'm pretty fine with that, considering what this is.

You may refer to my post in which I mention liking Peter Singer in the other thread to work out how I will obviously be voting on this.

FP, very much a supporter of euthanasia under those terms (specifically #1).

Mega-HP, not supportive of infanticide.

No to infanticide. Pleasantly surprised that the FF's are losing.

Remember despite the poll results so far, Atlas is "far left" or "ultra-liberal" or whatever. Roll Eyes

Calling the Atlas "far left" would be stupid, but it definitely leans to left, opposition to infanticide notwithstanding.

So my poor killing and homeless person indentured servitude proposals are awful, yet killing a 7th grader  (or any kid of course, but to drive a point) with consent of their parents is sane? God, the world we live in.

The slippery slope is a logical fallacy... and a fact of life.

I don't have objections on principle to the idea of euthanizing children, but it is only acceptable if the euthanized person is the one directly taking the step of asking for it. No matter how young the child is, parental consent is not enough in cases like these.

Obviously this is one of those issues it's super-hard to decide on for me in most cases.  But this goes beyond what I consider morally acceptable, as it's involuntary and is an affront to freedom and human ethics, so I have to say HP. If this is what one must support to be considered progressive, well, count me out. Others have said what this really facilitates, and they're correct.
If you can't cope with raising your child, for goodness sake allow it to be adopted or something.

The slippery slope is a logical fallacy... and a fact of life.

I've called out for using it, and  while it's irrational, it's an inevitable part of many people's behavior. Some just don't need a good reason to take things too far.

We shouldn't even need to invoke a slippery slope argument to discern that infanticide is very wrong and a HP. I mean, who says "Go kill all the infants you want but whatever you do, just don't touch the homeless."?

I must have missed the part where supporting the involuntary execution of children on the sayso of their parents was a left-wing position. I would think that sort of horror transcends ideological lines.
