It seems that we are faced with so many 'crucial' issues going forward as a country, yet as one would expect, the citizens of this nation view them differently in terms of importance. While various parties have their own agenda, it seems every individual is different.

What are the three most important issues facing the country today, and the three least important. Of course, only national issues should be considered, whether or not your town should build a new library doesnt qualify.

Most important

-Evaporation of Civil Liberties
-Economic future going forward
-Ending overseas empire

Least Important

-Global Warming
-Gay marriage
-Abortion

The cult of state-worship, the media/academic smear-bund's ongoing assault on non-state-worshippers, and the deliberate cartelization-centralization of the economy in state-worshipping hands.

The least important?  I dunno, the birther/truther/JFK sh[inks].

Most important:
1.  The destruction of the Middle class/ Income inequality
2.  The state of the US healthcare system, especially cost
3.  The Republican Party being insane

I don't really understand what least important means.  I guess I'll just interpret this as overrated given the amount of news coverage it gets.
Least Important:
1.  The NSA/ Drones / privacy panic
2.  The hyper-inflation Republicans are constantly reminding us is around the corner.
3.  The deficit

Most important

1. Transitioning FAST from fossil fuels and other non-renewable resources (both b/c of global warming and because of coming scarcity)
2. Repairing our crumbling infrastructure, and building smart new infrastructure that can deal with the challenges of #1.
3. Enacting a sane monetary policy that cares about unemployment, instead of just the usual hard money bugaboos

There's a lot of contenders for #3, though.

Least important

1. Anything having to do with guns.
2. Entitlement "reform" (well, Social Security "reform" at least.  Medicare is a different kettle of fish).
3. That godforsaken sandbox known as the Middle East.

The most important things to me are all interconnected, so I will use slashes liberally:
1. Economy/income inequality/jobs/education/infrastructure/taxation/welfare/healthcare/worker's rights/minimum wage/off-shoring
2. Legislative gridlock/two party system representation/corporatism/lobbies/entrenched incumbents/gerrymandering
3. Civil liberties being eroded/privacy/war on drugs/censorship/gay marriage

Least important:
1. Abortion
2. The freedom to own and use firearms
3. Bees

Most Important:
-Global Warming/Energy
-The economy, esp. unemployment
-Checks and balances: in my opinion, each branch of government has too much power in some areas and not enough in others.

Overrated: All are important, it's just a matter of how important:
-Intellectual property rights enforcement
-Benghazi and the IRS
-Short-term public debt

Underrated:
-Poverty in the US and the world
-Incarceration rates
-The existence of a debt ceiling separate from the normal budgetary process (I think this is a huge weakness in both the short- and long-term, bigger than the rising use of the filibuster)

Most:
1. Income inequality, poverty, unemployment, the economy, and education (all five are highly interrelated with one another)
2. Legislative gridlock and polarization, partisan gerrymandering, and abuse of the filibuster
3. Creeping corporate control of government

Least:
1. Benghazi
2. Gun rights
3. The War on Christmas/School Prayer/assorted Culture War nonsense

Overrated:
1. China
2. Abortion
3. The debt/deficit

Underrated:
1. Campaign finance reform/electoral reform
2. The environment
3. Racism/Civil Rights

Biggest problems:

1. Poverty
2. Corporate  power
3. Environmental degradation

So what is trivial? Skirt lengths?

The most

1)  Income Inequality and the lack of basic Medical Care
2)  Education and Research (curing diseases, seeing if we can have a human presence in deep space in our lifetimes, cracking the mysteries of the brain, finding new materials and energy sources, making smart machines to defend us and enrich our lives)
3)  Civil Rights (including LGBT and immigration) and Voting Rights (including gerrymandering and other antidemocratic policies)

The least

1) Prosecuting the Drug War
2) More Gun Control
3) The Conservative Media's various corruption crusades against POTUS

1. Poverty
2. Corporate  power
3. Environmental degradation

So what is trivial? Skirt lengths?

So many mentions of global warming and only one person mentions "environmental degradation".. the green movement stopped being green a long time ago.  It's all about grant money and ridiculous efforts to "cool" the planet by 0.004*C or something silly like that.

And don't you dare try to tie it all together with climate change.  Because how little time is spent focusing on clean air, water, and maintaining robust ecosystems all in the name of spending more time worrying about something you literally have no control over.

At this point both the whacked out super greens and the far right are working together to hobble the economy and degrade the environment further.

Most important issues:

Income inequality/lack of upward social mobility.
Environmental degradation
the health/education/transportation trifecta

Least important:

Catastrophic anthropogenic global warming/climate change/climate disruption/weather weirding/jet stream weirding/climate crisis.. whatever the f**k they call it this week

Whatever Republicans are concerned about, as a rule.

The most

1) Economic opportunity / inequality
2) Campaign finance / lobbying and the revolving door
3) Environment / Global warming (I consider global warming to be critical because of it's massive worldwide effects. Environmental degradation apart from global warming actually doesn't make the top 3. Whether global warming is man-made or not, I believe it is but at the same time I can't say I know more than Snowguy either. However, at the end of the day it doesn't matter for me. Even if it's natural it's still the biggest natural disaster that's coming our way by far in the next century.)

The least

1) The recent "Scandals"
2) Gay marriage
3) Prosecuting the Drug War

Underrated
1) Checking the virtually unlimited power of the gun lobby
2) Campaign finance / lobbying and the revolving door
3) Extreme poverty

Actually almost all of our problems stem from the size and power of government.
