Going from 1912 to 2012 in my own little elections series. This thread will be for sorting out the nominees of the major parties in American politics, which to this point include the Democrats and Republicans. What is considered a 'major' party may change, depending upon forthcoming election results, as well. If no candidate receives a majority of the vote, there will be a second ballot for the nomination of the party in question, which will likewise last one day.

I'm going to aim to be slightly more realistic here, with concurrent House and Senate elections, a handicap system like wormyguy is using for his election series, and using the butterfly effect so that no one born after our point of divergence in history is born, so by the time we get to 2012 we'll have completely different candidates that don't exist IRL. And I'll do my best to keep this realistic; for example, if TR wins the GOP nod, he's not going also run as the Progressive candidate, because that doesn't make any sense.

Anyway, without further aideu, go right ahead. I'm going to go make a thread for minor party nominations as well, so be sure to vote there, too! Vice Presidential nominations will be selected in another ballot.

Welcome back to the fantasy election industry, TNF. Vote for Hughes. I like your inclusion of draft candidates. Should be interesting. I've been considering restarting in a more flexible format myself, though that'll undoubtedly have to wait as I don't want to jump right in after finishing my first one.

Never a racist Southern Democrat, of course.

Well, Wilson was a racist Democrat who grew up in the South (albeit living in New Jersey at the time), so you're right.
