True, drinking water does not burn calories, but as was told to me by this forum health is not just calories.  It's the overall benefits of water I'm talking about versus the minimal negative effects of just one soda.

It should be 2:48am in Oklahoma right now, shouldn't it?  Bushie, your alarm was supposed to wake you up at 2:45, right?

IF YOU'RE STILL SLEEPING, THEN WAKE UP!!!  YOUR ALARM DIDN'T WORK!

I'm afraid that's all I can do in terms of waking Bushie up in time.

Good Thursday Morning!  I decided to sleep all the way until 4:00.  I don't think I will regret that decision. Wink  About to start finishing things up so I can be outta here by 6:00 am.

I did wake up at 2:45 first off, but I went back to sleep until 4:00. Tongue

Thanks for the wake up call. Smiley

Yup, the dog house is set up and ready for its occupant!

It is on the porch which is already covered, so he'll have a double cover from the extreme heat and rain.

It is 4:40. The next item on the agenda this morning is a bowl of cereal at 5:00 and then say goodbye to Mom and J.J. at 6:00. I will be at the Airport in 2 hours. First flight leaves Oklahoma City in 6 hours from right now at 10:40! As of right now, the flight is on time!

EDIT:  This is not my breakfast.  I will have a slightly bigger breakfast on the other side of security this morning.

I am shutting my computer down for the day.  I will try to update the forum when I get to Dulles.  I'll be at Dulles from 14:28-16:40 EDT.  From there, I will try to post in Brussels early Friday morning and then when I get to the Nairobi Hotel Friday night/Saturday morning Kenya Time (Friday afternoon/early evening EDT).  I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have already been lifted on my behalf and those that will continue to pray and send good thoughts in my direction over the next 13 days.  Talk to you all later.

Bushie, you do realize water doesn't reduce the sugar you've eaten or drank nor does it reduce the amount of calories you've eaten, correct? Drinking a coke is drinking a coke. There's no "okay" way to drink it versus a bad way.

Well, that is, other than vomiting it up after drinking it, n'est-ce pas?

And you're waking up at 3am for a 12:40 flight??

I'm waking up at 2:45 am for a 10:40 flight.  I have to be the airport no later than 7:40 am (3 hours is required for international flights, especially for larger groups), and Dad is the one taking me to the Airport and he has to be at work at 6:45.  He works 15 minutes from the Airport and we live 30-35 minutes from the Airport, so we're leaving at 6:00 so I can get there by 6:30 and he can get back to work by 6:45.

I believe that after having a bunch of healthy stuff during the day, one is entitled to a little cheat drink or snack.  It doesn't have to be all healthy all the time with no diversions.  One coke a day with 8-9 glasses of water and a bunch of exercise is not going to undo everything accomplished that day.  If anything it might erase 1 or 2 glasses of water.  I won't go overboard, but one has to drink more than just water.

No, but drinking it just cancels out the exercise. It's kind of like when someone orders a salad for dinner and then finishes their meal with a giant slice of chocolate cake. Sure, you may have saved calories earlier, but it doesn't matter now. Plus, diet soda isn't that bad. I hardly drink water 100% of the time, but I don't drink sugar filled drinks as an alternative.

Anyway, this is moot because you aren't actually on a diet. Have a nice trip. I am looking forward to your updates from Kenya.

Hey, folks, I am 30 minutes from boarding.  I should be taxiing out in 55 minutes.  We are about 30 hours from Nairobi.

We plan to get him fixed, but we read we should wait until he's 6 months old.  Mom and Dad are taking him to the vet Sunday and they'll ask for sure.

Does Bushie's plane not have WiFi or something? I mean, you'd think sometime along the line of 30+ hours of plane rides he'd want to get online or something.

Wifi on planes is horribly expensive. I doubt even Bushie would spend his parents money on that, unless he needs to have a brief relaxation.

I have yet to experience WiFi on a plane. It would make my eight hour flights to Europe a lot easier!

I wouldn't recommend that.  I've had blood in the ejaculate after the 24 hour trip from the USA.. apparently this is not that unusual after the low pressure and dehydration.

You have to wonder if Our Dear Friend will have a chance to briefly relax while in Kenya, surrounded by all those good missionaries and little children. Maybe all these naps and such were merely in preparation for this journey.

I do hope he posts some pictures of him loving on his kids!

Yeah I didn't know, sorry, I've never been on a plane, but I plan on going on a small trip after I graduate next year, maybe Southwest's $69 cheap bastards deal. Smiley The farthest I've been from home was Niagra Falls.

I still feel for Bushie's Dad....the poor guy has to:

1) Walk, feed, and care for the dog
2) Take momma Bushie everywhere
3) Work 60 hours per week.
4) Check on Bushie's house.
5) Cut his grass and care for his yard.

Wait, he already does all of that.  Sad
