My brother had a bad biking accident today.

He went mountainbiking and almost at home (like 500 meters in front of his house), he had the accident.

A dog was on the other side of the street than his owner and the (invisible) dog leash was going across the street. My brother came from a side alley and didn't see any leash.

So he fell rather badly and sprained his wrist that needed to be xrayed. He also got several bruises. Wearing a helmet, the head is OK.

He could actually sue the dog-holder for creating a dangerous situation, but considering the injuries are not too bad, he won't do that.

Hopefully your brother gets better soon. Smiley

My accuracy notwithstanding, Gramps.  Is the picture accurate or not?  Or did you hang with the blacks and rock the jerry curls?

Fixed this annoying problem with Firefox where flash videos would go all choppy/crackly depending on what I was doing. Anyway, with a quick Google two posts had the answer:

Sure enough, checking Task Manager's Always on Top option I could see my CPU was darting from the twenties to the seventies just while scrolling up and down.

Went to Adobe site, downloaded the uninstaller and version ten from their download centre/archive, and sorted. Crazy you have to go back three years to get a better performance. Anyway, thought I'd post it incase any other Firefox users are having this problem.

Home from college for Labor Day weekend. Aside from getting my laundry done, seems little point to being here.

Hey everyone! Checking in from college. Things are going not bad for me, had some really great and really terrible times. I def prefer that to my previous constant "blah" numb/apathetic state even if it averages out about the same. Classes start Monday, I have a mixed schedule; German (mandatory foreign language), sociology intro, something on evolutionary bio, and a religion course about the Abrahamic notion of "God" and its background and evolution over time, which is prob the most interesting imo.

I really don't understand the freshman obsession with alcohol. Sitting in an overcrowded room full of sweaty people who have never gotten drunk before drinking sh!tty beer until they puke is not exactly my idea of fun :b. That's not coming from any "conservative" standpoint, mind you, I just prefer certain other mind-altering substances to alcohol Wink. ime the people who have been here for a while seem to understand this well (along with some freshmen, especially the ones I hang out with). Fortunately this isn't one of those places where people are strictly segregated by year, upperclassmen never talk yo freshmen, etc. My best friend so far is a junior, actually.

I am so envious of those of you just starting college. It's the best 4 years you'll ever experience. I wish it was 2007 all over again...

I went to the Americans for Prosperity Defending the Dream summit in Orlando. Met David Horowitz and didn't realize it too later. Walked past Michelle Malkin, didn't care. Saw Ted Cruz give an amazing speech and mingled with some young grassroots activists.

Most parents do that man. It's a phase. I know my first semester of college was like that.

I ended up defending Jim DeMint of all people during lunch today. One of the people at the table I was seated at stated during my church's monthly potluck that his abandoning his Senate seat for the much better paying presidency of The Heritage Foundation was an example of the corruption to be found in public service these days. I disagreed with that since while I generally don't agree with DeMint's views I don't think he's chosen them because of any financial considerations. He also stated he thought legislators were under a moral obligation to finish their terms of office.  It would be nice, yet I think DeMint was not under any more moral obligation to serve to the end of his Senate term than Barrack Obama was.

Today I'm having 4 grilled burgers, 1tbsp of baked beans and 1tbsp of potato salad. An American meal.  666 calories.

Back from Vermont; feels weird to be back in the O-Town for more than like 2 days in a row. Back to work tomorrow.

Got back from the Renaissance Festival with some friends. Spent $6.75 on a huge turkey leg. Awesome. Waiting for a ride to college from another friend.

I'm still brooding over this girl. I've never been cheated on before and I've never gone off on a girl like that since I was a freshman in college like 6 years ago. I guess I am just disappointed in myself for acting like that and letting myself get used, and letting her know it got to me. It sucks that I have to be around this girl for another year until we graduate. And I guess I need to quit drinking while I am at it.

Time heals all, but patience is not a Greek virtue, Dukey.  You need to find it.
