Please declare your intentions to challenge Yankee for PPT in this thread. You have 5 days to make your declarations.

Also, if you wish to declare for committees, do so in this thread as well. The four committees: Government Oversight and Reform, National Security, The Judiciary and Internal Affairs.

I declare for GOR, Judiciary and Internal Affairs, but I'll probably withdraw for one once things are clearer. I just want to improve my odds of being selected on one.

There is a slight error in the OP. It is only two days for PPT Declaration and then Five Days for PPT Elections. I accidentally posted the wrong number in an AIM transmission to Duke on Friday. I should have sent him a PM, like the vict err Senators. Tongue

I declare for President Pro-Tempore and for Government Oversight and Reform Committee.

PPT - myself
GOR - myself, Nappy, Snowstalker, Maxy and jdb
NSC - Ben, jdb, Kalwejt Snowstalker and Nappy
JUD - Maxy and jdb
IA - Nappy, Snowy, and Maxy

Not bad, but we have a lot of doubling up here and in some cases possible tripling up here. My recommendation is to take that under advisement and also consider who is capable of being chair of each committee:

Chairs:
GOR ?
NSC: Ben?
JUD ?
IA: Nappy?

We want these to work for once so think hard.

Well you got a clear shot at the judiciary at this point. If no one else declares, I'll volunteer to fill the last spot there considering my recent legal actions, unfortunate experience with the court's responsiveness and the fact that I have been reading the Federalist Papers, means that I could bring some merit to the table in legal affairs if necessary. Tongue

Since Nixy and Hagird are pulling back, it would be preferable to having someone else take on a third.

What about sbane? He hasn't declared for anything yet?

I will be seeking another turn at the Internal Affairs Committee Chair. I know Matt will be the active SoIA we desperately need, and I have figured out a way to making the committee more relevant.

I may also run for PPT. Its something I've always been interested in, but Yankee does a great job so that may be a lost cause. On the other end, a healthy and friendly competition could be beneficial. Tongue

Hey Maxy, would you be interested in voluntaring to count the committee votes for Duke when the time comes? You did it once before and I would like to avoid a delay on that when the time comes.

We should be able to go ahead and open a vote on the committees along with the PPT election, since so many have declared and we have enough to fill all the gaps now.

I suppose so, as long someone says me how much members each committee has.

Shouldn't Ben and Napoleon be elected on the committee before being named chair?

Of course, I am merely listing what everyone has said so far as that Duke won't have to dig through all these posts.

That said, I am pushing things as fast as possible and I would like that if as soon as you can count those votes, that Duke can begin a declaration period, preferably only of 24 hours since these aren't strictly regulated (unlike the PPT rules, which are firmly stipulated). If we need to, we can count the declarations of Ben and Nappy from prior to the period.

Also, who is thinking about serving as chair of GOR and JUD.

Now granted if one of these people doesn't get on said committee, then obviously rethinking is necessary, but working people through a decision process is easier for one, as opposed to all four spots. It will also take less time that way. See my point?

The relevant cliche would be "penciled in". Its a hypothetical/assumption, not a predetermination.
