Crossroads has a 1-week, $440k buy attacking Pryor. Their internal has Cotton up 46/41. Last time they polled was before Cotton formally declared, 10 months ago. 44/42 Cotton.

Internal, obviously flawed.

Can only wait for TB/PPP on real polling.

Bubba has no plans to return, unless he thinks it'll make a difference.

This is a bit off topic, but I'm sure somebody who knows Arkansas can answer this:

In 2008, Pryor ran unopposed. His only opponent was a Green Party candidate who was to the left of him, and they got about 20% of the vote. Did most of their vote come from liberals who were frustrated with Pryor, or from staunch right-wingers who would refuse to vote for any Democrat under any circumstances? I know it was likely a combination of both, but which was more prevalent?

Probably from liberals. Pryor was seen as pro life, etc. I don't see a single Republican voter voting for a Green. He would probably have not voted.

Beebe is already 67, I can see a challenge to Boozeman by him at less than a 50% chance of happening. If Beebe doesn't run, who else would?

No idea. Maybe Jerry knows?

Rothenberg: Pryor's still the most vulnerable senator.

How the hell is John Walsh not considered the most vulnerable senator??

[Edit]: He also called Blank-Stare Lincoln "personable..."

I see Pryor coming out of it. Hagen is slipping to Tillis. Landrieu is needed should IA come down to wire. And AK should be close in our favor.

Maybe John Walsh isn't really considered an incumbent, because he hasn't been elected to his seat?

Yep. Silver says appointments are considered open seats for handicapping purposes.

Bad week for Cotton.

His campaign leaked an internal memo of him leading by 7... and if you look closely you'll see that the toplines go back to February 2013 - a month before he got his current job as a Congressman. And now, he's skipped the tomato festival, which is Arkansas's equivalent of the start of the political season, to attend a fundraiser with the Koch brothers. For those of you who aren't familiar, it's like if Mitch McConnell or Rand Paul decided to skip out on Fancy Farm.

I'd like to officially apologize to Mark Pryor for calling Cotton entitled. He's absolutely goddamn right.

Cotton was first approached by friends in 2010 about Lincoln's seat (there's an early straw poll with "Tom Cox" on it) but decided to wait and run for the House first. There were reports he was talking to the NRSC in July 2012 - the subject was explicitly raised in GE debates but he brushed them aside. In December 2012 he, Griffin and Womack all told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette they were considering it. Then he left the door wide open while dropping numerous hints for months. All of this was reported in local and national outlets. Plus Bubba and Fulbright also hopscotched.

Jindal will host a fundraiser for Cotton in Fort Smith tonight. Wonder when the Clintons will be back for Pryor.

Cotton took a dumb swipe at Pryor while addressing Hobby Lobby. Ironically the written statement is what he should've said... apologize and move on.
