Hello everybody,

My name is Charles I'm 18 years old and I am new to this forum. If you are also on alternatehistory.com I may know you (I have the same username there). I joined this forum beause ever since the 2008 election, I always have been deeply engrossed in politics and studying the trends and outcomes of each election. I've been reading some of the posts on the forum and dying to create election timelines of my own.  In the past I worked on campaigns including the one of my former congressman. I currently am a political science minor (history is my major) and wish to be a politician in the future. Everybody tells me not to go into politics (my parents, my girlfriend, my friends) but I don't listen to them.

Here's a bit about myself. I was born in Maryland but I hardly remember living there. I moved to New Jersey when I was a baby and moved to West Islip, Long Island, New York (aka "White Islip") where I live today when I was in middle school. I currently am a freshman in college. In addition to politics and history, I also enjoy many other things including sports. I've been on the football team all throughout middle and high school and even was an assistant captain in senior year. I also play basketball and used to play ice hockey when I was younger. I am not on any division teams in college but I do play intramurals a lot. I also love to travel (I've been to various countries), bike ride, swim, ski and cook. I've been with my current girlfriend for over a year and she is the best thing that ever happened to me. I have a dachshund mix named Nick after my dad's law partner. Politically, I am a member of the republican party and I voted in my first ever election for Mitt Romney in 2012.

Anyway, I look forward to posting my election timelines on the forum. I have predictions of future presidential elections from 2016 to 2128 (yes that far) as well as alternate and fantasy elections. I also look forward to getting to know all of you and reading and responding to your timelines.

Let's have fun together!

Charles

Welcome Smiley  As a big fan of the Habsburgs, I appreciate your name.

Thank you! Smiley We have something in common because I also love the Habsburgs (and that whole era)! In fact I am descended from them for the historical Charles V is my fourteenth great grandfather.

Hey, welcome! I see from your "all about yourself" post that you're living in West Islip. I'm not too familiar with long island but I don't know any colleges out there, if you don't mind me asking, what school do you go to? Or is that where your home is and you're in school somewhere else?

Didn't you have his logo in your signature and post a photo of yourself wearing a Romney/Ryan t-shirt? You certainly could say that.

Welcome, friend!  It's nice to see a New York Republican join the forum.  We don't have too many of those.  The forum has somewhat of a liberal tilt, so we need a conservative to help level the playing field some.  Personally, I am a registered Democrat from Oklahoma City of all places, but that's primarily economically.  I'm aligned with the Republicans mostly on social issues such as abortion, foreign policy, and capital punishment.  My only social issue that I'm more in line with the Democrats happened very recently where I came out in support of marriage equality.

Again, welcome, friend. Smiley
