I'm not racist, but I will go for Thurmond

Why, exactly, are you voting for him?

Something called I hate every candidate, and I just chose him to support.  I really don't like any of these people.

If you're a conservative, why not Bob Taft, then? Legitimately, I'd like to know.

Dewey/Warren

The Democrats are just uninspiring, and the Socialists seem keen to nominate a two-time failure (three-time failure if you count the '36 Convention). I'll probably back the Republicans this time.

"The Japanese situation as it exists in this state today may well be the Achilles heel of the entire civilian defense effort." The solution, of course, is internment. Warren at the time sure is a great pick, ain't he?

We must keep a strong line with the Soviet Union...if only until Stalin is gone.

Truman/William Douglas

Based on combined primary votes and my assumptions on how certain people will vote, it looks like 17 Republican, 15 Socialist/Progressive, 6 Democrat, 3 States Rights.

Idk, it seems like a lot of people who voted for Dewey would pick Truman over Taft.

Wallace is basically a Socialist. We welcome him and all other disgruntled Democrats (and Republicans!) into the Socialist Party.

Whatever is the outcome of these negotiations, we need to make sure that all progressives vote for the socialist ticket, we can't let the post war prosperity go to capital, since the nominees of both traditional parties will ensure such outcome.

Toss-up between Dewey and Warren.  Either of them would have been a great candidate and a great president.

Uh, President Sinclair will still be a Socialist even if Wallace runs as his VP. If we have Sinclair/La Guardia and Wallace/Whatshisface, that'll split the progressive vote and allow the right to win. You don't want that, do you now?

We on the center-left and the left need to hammer something out for 1952. If we split our vote in 1948, Bob Taft, a man who is as reactionary as they come, will be elected President. He will appease the Soviets and let South Korea fall to the North. He will let Stalin set up shop in Italy and in West Germany.

If you don't vote for Truman, vote for Sinclair in the general election. Sinclair is an avowed anti-communist and won't work with Stalin. Wallace was on friendly terms with Stalin. Your preference ballot should ideally look like this:

[1] Truman or Sinclair
[2] Sinclair or Truman
[3] Wallace
[4] Taft

We cannot let the forces of reaction seize the day because the left is divided. We have to unite behind either Truman or Sinclair, not the Soviet stooge.

Let's unite behind Sinclair, preferably, but I agree wholeheartedly with this.

Plus, voting for Wallace will lead to state-sponsored cannibalism in France! (Ten points to whoever gets that joke.)
