Mr. President,

Another one of your proposals has hit the floor of the Senate. If value its life, I highly recommend you make your appearence in the Senate to advocate for it, within the next 24 hours. I cannot say what might happen if you fail to appear, but it will be on your head. Evil Tongue

Sen. NC Yankee,
President Pro-Tempore.

Statement:

In accordance with a campaign promise to this effect, I finally decided to edit the Statute page on the wiki a little bit to display the most recent Senates at the top of the page, to more immediately access recent information, instead of having to go all the way to the bottom of the page, and added Federal Law tags to each Senate (it was previously only on a few of them). Hope people like it better that way!

Otherwise, in the next couple days I'll introduce another batch of legislation, which should include the Common Market proposal, a wiki consolidation effort, and a few other things.

Sorry for disappearing in the last day, folks; haven't felt well.

For the executive slot: I believe Nix and I will be introducing legislation together in the coming days, but I suppose for now, I would like the Stimulating Efficient Automotive Sales Act to be put in our executive slot.

Moving my response here as it is no longer relevant to Max's campaign.

I will issue an executive order; but I've just never been comfortable making law that way too often, that's all. I just don't see the harm in having it on the books.

But yes, a new CERS would be a great project I think we could all work together on.

Its not "making law". The law was already made- that the elections be held on those dates. The executive power is given to the President by the Constitution. Use it. Having the elections posted in the DoFE thread isnt changing the law. I recall issuing an executive order requiring sample ballots to be posted prior to elections- it wasn't a change to statute but it was a change in how the statute we already was executed by the executive branch. Within a couple days, I'll actually finally have a new batch of proposals out for the Senate to rip to shreds. Really, I swear! The common market agreement, a deregistration procedure act, a reconsolidated version of the CCJA, yet another Constitutional Amendment for all of us to vote against, and a proposal to create a national daycare system. Once I figure out how the damn thing works; that's what's holding me back. Minor details, eh? Tongue Anyway, stay tuned.

Here's my Administration's latest legislative priorities, posted in the next few posts because of character limit restrictions. You'll notice the lack of the daycare bill; that was holding everything up because I need more time to prepare it since I didn't want to lazily write it, I wanted to get it right. So that will come later, but shouldn't take too long.

Anyway, here you all are.

Accepted with pride - thanks for the mention. Smiley

It'll be no problem keeping my area up to date, and when there is a lull I'll get back to the backlog, and some of it I will pick up after my tenure as A.G., like the resolutions, since I have Wiki access now.

Does not the fact that all of these proposals were introduced into the queue within twenty hours, attest to the unnecessary nature of the first proposal? Tongue The problem is moving stuff through the Senate fast enough, not getting it into the body, which by way, the PMs you inspired yesterday seem to have a mixed effect at best, Mr. President. Wink
