He was a big supporter of infrastructure projects.  If he were alive today, I'm certain he'd be championing high-speed rail.

Yeah I was going to bring this up.

Speer was a competent architect as well. The whole "ruin value" idea is rather brilliant- if I ever build a house it will be a proper masonry one.
