According to the poll of 609 registered voters, 34 percent said they plan to vote against McConnell while just 17 percent say they will vote to give him another six years. The poll found that 44 percent said they will have to wait and see who is running against him and 6 percent said they are not sure.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.

The poll found that while 51 percent of Democrats said they definitely vote against McConnell, only 34 percent of Republicans said they would back him against all comers.

They should have thrown in a Mitch vs. Judd question as well, instead of asking such a nonsensical question only.

This is why we shouldn't nominate Ashley Judd.

Obama only won 69% of KY Democrats in 2008; for 2012, I'm guessing that number could likely be under 60% as he tanked along the eastern border (which is ordinarily heavily Democratic).

I wonder how white Democrats voted...

90% of the state is white, kinda a moot point.

Oh.  I think I remember hearing somewhere that Obama actually lost white Democrats in some states, but I guess Kentucky wasn't one of them.

Yep. Just by some quick math, Obama would have lost white Dems here in LA by 60/40-ish in 2008. I'm sure there were other states in the south like that.

Ah, this is from the CNN exit polls in 2008:

White Democrats (All Democrats)

LA: 60/38 R (75/24 D)
KY: 62/37 D (69/30 D)
WV: 69/29 D (69/28 D)
TN: 79/19 D (86/13 D)
AL: 51/47 R (85/14 D)
OK: 59/41 D (67/33 D)
AR: 68/28 D (77/21 D)

White LA Dems were by far the most hostile to Obama.

White KY Dems were redder than the entire party, but Obama was still over 60% with them.

I wonder if Obama won white Democrats in AL/MS this year (he didn't drop much with whites total, and maybe some of the Democrats who voted R in 2008 died or left the party).
