I'm pretty confident there'd be some "Manchurian Candidate" type junk spread around by supporters of their primary opponents (who of course would vociferously condemn them) and might evolve into crap people actually believed if they were elected, much like Birtherism. With the crap I saw on DU and MyDD in 2008, I have no doubt there'd be tons of people trying to find evidence proving they never really left the LDS Church and are part of a conspiracy to fulfill the White Horse Prophecy/install a Mormon theocracy.
