Ok, as you can see that I'm new here, and this is my first TL. Smiley
All things are the same up to December of 2011.

It's late in the game to claim Iowa, the first of the GOP primary caucuses, and we have word that Sen. Santorum has fallen ill with the flu, and has stopped campaigning temporarily. The other candidates have all sent Santorum their best wishes during this holiday season.

Cue to Jan. 3

Here we are at election night, it's been a big one here in Iowa, with exit polls showing it close, who come out on top?

Here they are folks, the full results from Iowa.
1. Ron Paul: 25%
2. Mitt Romney 24%
3. Michelle Bachmann 21%
4. Rick Santorum 18%
5. Newt Gingrich 8%
6. Rick Perry 2%
7. John Huntsman 2%

This is a big win for two candidates tonight, Ron Paul and Michelle Bachmann, she was polling low, but a last minute surge put her in 3rd place.

The next day...
Hello, welcome back. We have big news! Rick Santorum and Rick Perry are dropping out, just before the New Hampshire Primary. Rick Santorum is whole-heartedly backing Rep. Bachmann, while Gov. Perry has endorsed Newt Gingrich. We also have some other interesting endorsement news, Bob and Elizabeth Dole have come out in support of John Huntsman, an interesting move, for sure.

Jan 9. Big News! Sen. Kelly Ayotte switches her endorsement to Huntsman! Mitt Romney's poll numbers drop significantly!

Jan 10. Welcome to the Results of the New Hampshire Primary.
1. John Huntsman 35%
2. Ron Paul 27%
3. Mitt Romney 16%
4. Newt Gingrich 10%
5. Michelle Bachmann 9%

Update later tell me what you think so far!

Tongue

A few nitpicks, but a Bachmann surge would be an interesting timeline.
1. I believe Kelly Ayotte endorsed Romney very early in the process - she was one of his first supporters.
2. Considering the tough primary he knew he was going to endure, I highly doubt Dick Lugar would risk alienating voters by making an endorsement.

Jan. 19
Welcome to the South Carolina debate, with just 2 days before the South Carolina primary, these candidates are vying for the top spot in the primary.

Sample of the the Debate:
Candidates, with leadership and the ability to beat Obama in the General Election, how can you make your case to the South Carolina voter?
Gov. Romney, after two losses to candidates deemed "Unelectable" how can you be confident that you can defeat Obama?

Gov. Romney: Well, these are just two small primaries, and we have a long way to go in this primary season. I have the leadership necessary as a Governor from a blue state to prove to the American people that I can beat president Obama. It's time for honest leadership, and I know how to get this country back on track.

(Other candidates are asking in)

Mr. Huntsman, you have a response?

Gov. Huntsman: Yes, Gov. Romney, you call the two first primaries just "small primaries" It seems that you are bit detached from the election. This shows us where as a party and as a nation where we need to go. If the first two primaries don't matter, then why should the third? Or the fourth? In fact why are you after the nomination, if these states aren't worth it? The people have spoken, and it sure isn't in favor of a flip-flop. It favors strong leadership, strong leadership which I have proven as Governor of Utah, and as Ambassador to China.

Gov. Romney: May have moment to respond Mr. Moderator?

Moderator: You'll have plenty of time to respond later Mr. Romney.
Speaker Gingrich?

Spkr Gingrich: Gov. Huntsman makes a good point, we don't need a flip-flop as our president or our nominee, we need someone with strong leadership and steady character. I have had that experience as leader of the House, and my resolve for this country is strong.

Moderator: Alright, Mr. Paul, your response?

Gov. Romney: Excuse me Mr. Moderator, a chance to reply, please?

Rep. Paul: Please allow the rest of us to speak Mr. Governor.

Gov. Romney: I will not stand by while I am attacked, with no chance to respond. I am done with this debate.
(Gov. Romney walks out leaving an empty lectern at the stage.)

Who won the debate
John Huntsman: 30%
Newt Gingrich: 25%
Ron Paul: 20%
Michelle Bachmann: 15%
Mitt Romney 10%

Good Idea Bmotley, at least you stated at the beginning that you were a beginner, on my "H.W. Bush not running", I didn't, I just expected people to think I was a beginner. I could help you if you want... Roll Eyes

Thanks! I may contact you about that, this will be a rather short TL, since I don't want to start pulling things out of nowhere around 2024 lol.

Welcome to the South Carolina Primary results!
We have some big surprises here in South Carolina, Newt Gingrich has pulled off a win here in South Carolina, but the biggest surprise? Michelle Bachmann has finished Second, with Ron Paul in Third. Huntsman and Romney are fairly far behind, and we have sources telling us Mitt Romney is considering dropping out if he does not win Florida, and things aren't doing so well for him there either, in fact he has fallen behind both Bachmann and Gingrich in the polls there.

Here are our final results for South Carolina:
1. Newt Gingrich 38%
2. Michelle Bachmann 30%
3. Ron Paul 17%
4. Mitt Romney 7%
5. John Huntsman 6%

Fast forward to the Florida Primaries:
Welcome to the results of the 2012 Florida GOP primary.
It seems that Mitt Romney has lost all momentum going forward, as he is currently dead last here in Florida, and he'll be giving a speech in a few minutes.
Now on to the results, Newt Gingrich has taken Florida following his big win in South Carolina. It was a close one here as Michelle Bachmann was nipping at his heels the entire night. But here are the final results with 99% of precincts reporting.

1. Newt Gingrich - 40%
2. Michelle Bachmann - 37%
3. Ron Paul - 20%
4. Jon Huntsman - 7%
5. Mitt Romney - 6%

We are going live to Mitt Romney's speech here in Florida.....
Thank you! Thank you! We have had a rough time here in Florida and the previous primaries and caucuses. I have decided it is time to withdraw from this race. I guess I should have learned from my father that the White House isn't the place to be for the Romney family. Hopefully I wasn't "brainwashed" into thinking that. I am not endorsing any candidate at this time, however I will fully support the eventual nominee.

Delegate count:
Newt Gingrich - 73
Ron Paul - 31
Jon Huntsman - 7
Mitt Romney - 2
Michelle Bachmann - 2

And then there were four...
After Mitt Romney dropped out, a surge of support for Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman occurred in Nevada, the two candidates did many ad buys and campaigning there, while Gingrich and Bachmann focused on the Super Tuesday primaries. In the end it was a close one in Nevada, but Ron Paul ended up the clear victor. Giving him more momentum heading into super Tuesday.
Results:
1. Ron Paul - 36%
2. Jon Huntsman - 33%
3. Newt Gingrich - 21%
4. Michelle Bachmann - 10%

WELCOME TO SMALL TUESDAY!Here are on Small Tuesday, this is the point where we see a short forecast of how long this primary is going to last. So far Michelle Bachmann is the only candidate who hasn't won a state yet, and I bet she is hoping to change that. Jon Huntsman is still hoping to capitalize on his New Hampshire win, and his solid debate performances.
Well, the first results are coming in from Missouri... and it looks like Bachmann has a sizable lead there. Remember, Newt Gingrich failed to get on the Ballot here, despite protests.
Results with 1% precincts reporting:
1. Michelle Bachmann - 50%
2. Ron Paul - 35%
3. Jon Huntsman - 12%

Well, the first results from Minnesota have come in...
Results with 1% precincts reporting:
1. Ron Paul - 40%
2. Michelle Bachmann - 32%
3. Jon Huntsman - 17%
4. Newt Gingrich 11%

Looks like we have a looonnngggg night ahead of us....

Sorry for the long delay, I got caught up in this strange thing called life and school Tongue

Here we are, waiting the last results from Colorado, where it's been a tight race between Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul.
Here are the results from Minnesota and Missouri:
Minnesota:
Ron Paul - 40%
Michelle Bachmann - 32%
Newt Gingrich - 15%
Jon Huntsman - 13%

Missouri:
Michelle Bachmann -45%
Ron Paul -30%
Newt Gingrich -15%
John Huntsman - 10%

Here we are, the final results for Colorado
Colorado:
Ron Paul - 38%
Jon Huntsman - 36%
Newt Gingrich - 14%
Michelle Bachmann - 12%

Well, lets analyze these results, Both Jon Huntsman and Newt Gingrich did not win a state tonight, and Michelle Bachmann lost her home state. With no clear frontrunner, it's going to be a long primary season. See you soon with the results of the Maine Caucuses.

WELCOME TO THE LAST REPUBLICAN DEBATE BEFORE SUPER TUESDAY!
Welcome all, please welcome Missouri winner...REP. MICHELE BACHMANN!
SOUTH CAROLINA AND FLORIDA WINNER.... NEWT GINGRICH!
IOWA WINNER.... CONGRESSMAN RON PAUL!
NEW HAMPSHIRE WINNER... GOVERNOR JON HUNTSMAN!

Thank you all for joining us tonight, let's get started.
I have a question I'll ask down the line.
Will you after these primaries are over make a pledge here and now that you will support the eventual nominee?
Jon Huntsman: Thank you, the way things are going now I will likely endorse the nominee, however I will not make any promises, as this is still anyone's game, and a lot can happen in that time.

Ron Paul: No, I will not make any pledges I cannot keep; however I will work any candidate that endorses the principles of sound money and individual liberty.

Newt Gingrich: I will stand here today and say, that I will support the eventual nominee, for we must defeat Obama this November. We cannot win without party unity.

Michele Bachmann: I too will make a pledge here, a pledge to support the nominee, and make Obama A ONE TERM PRESIDENT! (applause)

Moderater: Speaker Gingrich, you recently said you want a moon colony under your administration. Your fellow candidates have critized you for what some call a waste of spending. Could you respond?

Newt Gingrich: Yes, and I will. We need to reestablish overselves across the world as a dominate space power. We are super power and need to act like it.

Ron Paul: I'd like to respond to that.

Moderater: Go ahead congressman.

Ron Paul: While I think space programs are a good thing, they shouldn't be handled by the federal government. This is already being done by companies like SpaceX, the free market handles things the best. Look at the space program over the past thirty years next to the computer industry! We have advanced so quickly in that area where the federal space program has stagnated. We shouldn't bring back big spending programs of the Johnson administration.

Moderater: Any other comments?

Debate continues with Gingrich and Paul being the two stand outs.

Feb. 28, 2012
Welcome to campaign 2012, with just a few more states before Super Tuesday, every state matters to these campaigns, momentum alone can play a huge part in this election.

ARIZONA:
1. Jon Huntsman - 40%
2. Ron Paul - 30%
3. Michele Bachmann - 22%
4. Newt Gingrich - 8%

MICHIGAN:
1. Jon Huntsman - 39%
2. Newt Gingrich - 38%
3. Ron Paul - 14%
4. Michele Bachmann - 7%

Big wins and much needed momentum for Huntsman tonight, adding to his New Hampshire win. With Bachmann only taking one state and 3rd and 4th places will we see her dropping out?
