St Louis, MO

This is the first of several detailed policy announcements from the Al/Siege ticket... we'll be releasing some more today and tomorrow. Maybe some days afterwards as well.
We need an informed electorate and I hope we can inform the electorate of what we will try to do if we are elected next week.

Currently Atlasia has no laws on crime or a police force. Criminals can strike and nowt can be done about it... obviously this state of affairs has to change and if the Al/Siege ticket it will.

This is what we propose:

1. The creation of an Atlasian Police Force, headed by a Chief Police Commisioner (appointed by a non-partisan body)
2. A long and detailed Criminal Code, listing offenses and sentancing guidelines. One part will be Offenses Against the Person:

# Murder
# Corperate Manslaughter
# Manslaughter (this might get changed to Reckless Killing)
# Grevious Bodily Harm (including sub offenses like wounding)
# Actual Bodily Harm
# Battery
# Assault

The other part will be to do with fraud/theft:

# Impersonating a Fellow Citizen
# Electoral Fraud (including sub offenses like Multiple Registration and Outside Campaigning)
# Theft (covering all acts of physically stealing things)
# General Fraud

And finally a small part to do with minor offenses like graffiti etc.

If anyone has any questions or wants to know more about an offense, please ask and I'll give an answer.

What's "outside campaigning"? And give an example of "general fraud".

General Fraud refers to all non-electoral fraud.
Outside Campaigning is campaigning outside the Fantasy boards.

I may add another offense, Corruption, to the list

By outside campaigning, do you mean simply on the other Atlas boards, or does that mean I can't PM/AIM someone?

This looks very promising.

Whoever follows these things can consider me to be in the Lean Al column.

Now, I'm not disagreeing with fighting crime - hell, I'm all for it - but aren't Atlasian laws supposed to be inclusive of all U.S. laws before the founding of Atlasia? Would that not mean that federal, state, and local laws and law enforcement agencies are already present?

Yes, but thats no reason not to give them an Atlasian definition

I'm not saying that. Heck, I think it's a perfectly respectable thing to want to do. It's just that right now, if we do indeed have those laws and agencies, criminals can't currently just do whatever they want without fear of reprecussion - there are laws and police that stand in their way. I was more asking for clarification than anything else.

Wow, a position of yours I can actually support Al.  This all actually looks pretty good.

This means you will no doubt be getting my second preference on the upcoming ballot.

Yep: campaigning on other Atlas boards. It's just not possible to enforce a ban on AIM campaigning (although if it got really bad something would have to be done about it).

Obviously the Judge presiding over the case has to have some discresion... but I'll be publishing suggested sentances shortly

I've said in the past Al is going to be the ticket to support. And I fully agree. I fully endorse Al for president. As long as we can fully stifle his economic plans he will be a good president.

I guess the SC will be the one doing that.
