I'll withhold my vote until I see how he votes on the incoming firearm legislation.

Though, the response I got from him regarding my concerns was swift, polite, and promising. Smiley

Still haven't heard from Senator Murkowski yet. Huh

Begich is up there with Flake, Tester, Paul, Heinrich, Lee, Sanders, and King as one of our best Senators.

Begich is up there with .... Lee.... as one of our best Senators.

Ehhh, he hasn't really done much besides block every presidential appointment on principle. That's not "best" material right there.

Generally FF, but that doesn't mean I don't want his seat to flip next year.

FF. I follow him on Facebook and it really looks like he's doing a good job with constituent outreach.

Murkowski/Begich is probably the best Alaska delegation I could ask for.

My thoughts as well. If he were from Massachusetts or Vermont, we might have some problems. However, he represents the state of Alaska, so I expect to disagree with him at least some of the time. I certainly don't expect any Alaska politician, Democrat or Republican, to oppose oil interests. Even so, in Begich we have someone in that seat that is quite far to the left of what would normally be expected of the state.

One of two Republicans to vote against the PATRIOT Act, one of three to vote against the NDAA...

This is true, and that's good, but his pointless obstructionism is really annoying. And I'm of the opinion that if it wasn't him, there'd be another Senator somewhere (of either party) who would've voted the same way.

Wow. What's with the outpouring of love for this guy? Has he really been that noteworthy? I haven't seen him in the spotlight. What has he done "behind the scenes" that makes him deserving of all the praise?

He's as left-wing as an Alaska Senator can be, and he has a libertarian streak.
