Booker. I have nothing against Lautenberg other than the fact that his age could very well lead to a Christie appointee taking office. That's not acceptable in my view, so he should stand aside.

Booker is still more left-wing than a possible Christie appointment though...

I don't know if Christie would appoint a Republican to his seat because that could potentially affect his possible 2016 run... but I voted Booker.

But Lautenberg would probably still win the race if Booker sat out and he sailed to nomination. Either way, the winner of the D primary is favored to win in New Jersey.

That's not the point. Of course Lautenberg would win the election.

Obviously Booker, but I'd rather he stay patient and take over for Christie.

Lautenberg's done quite a bit much for my state of birth. I'd love a Senator Booker, but he shouldn't run unless Lautenberg chooses to retire.

Lautenberg enthusiastically; as I've already explained, this has nothing to do with ideology and everything to do with his status as the final WW2 veteran in the Senate.

Booker, to allow the GOP a chance at winning the seat.  Except New Jersey's closed primary, so of I lived there,  so I'd vote in the Republican primary instead.   There's no way on earth I would register as a Democrat in a closed-primary state, even for strategic reasons.

That's silly grounds on which to support a political candidate, surely?

Booker, obviously. The senate is not a retirement home.

Did you accidentally write Booker when you meant Lautenberg? Or perhaps you didn't see which state is being discussed in this thread?
