http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2013/01/mcauliffe-has-early-lead-in-va-gov.html

McAuliffe-Cuccinelli 46-41
McAuliffe-Cuccinelli-Bolling 40-32-15

McAuliffe and Bolling have around 50% name recognition, so the poll results are mostly based off Cuccinelli's quite low favorables.

The race is very much open.

EDIT: So I rushed this a bit too much and it went in the wrong subforum. Giddy hoo.

Very interesting.  If McAufliffe wins, wouldn't this be the first time since the 1970s since the party in control of the White House didn't lose the Virginia governorship?

McAuliffe may be s**t, but evidently Virginia really doesn't like Cuccinelli.

"Four more years... of the McDonnell economy." If that's the message Cuccinelli gets out he should be fine. If not, Donks keep their edge.

I'm a little bit surprised, both by how well Bill Bolling is doing (considering he would've been absolutely destroyed in a Republican), and how much he is taking from McAuliffe. The general dislike of both of these guys may be an in for Bolling.

This is sort of like Mayor Quimby vs. Sideshow Bob.

I'll be campaigning for McAuliffe. Not because I like him, but because I despise Cuccinelli.

With 29/45 approvals even John Edwards would have been competitive against Kookinelli.

That's personal favorability ratings, not job approval.
