Televangelist Pat Robertson of Virginia

Representative Jack Kemp of New York

Governor Pierre S. du Pont, IV of Delaware

Former Secretary of State Alexander Haig

Conservative Columnist Pat Buchanan of Virginia

Former U.S. ECOSOC Ambassador Alan Keyes of Maryland

George W. Bush son of VP George H.W. Bush Texas

Former Secretary of Labor Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina

Senator John McCain of Arizona

Businessman Steve Forbes

I know that this is just a topic that will probably won't go anywhere, well I enjoy it. Please comment! (actually if the views go to about 5, tommorrow I'll update! Cheesy)

Dubya was just a write in, and Liz and Bob were like this: "Lets run and see who makes it into the primaries and wins the first state, then the other will stop their campaign!"

This wont be the last time you will see Dubya, actually Dubya was just fealing pity for his fathers announcement and decided to throw his 'hat in the ring'! Don't worry JEB fans! He'll run soon, but not in the 90's, he is running for gov.

You are probably right. Dukakis would have run regardless and Dole would have beaten Dukakis as easily as Bush did. Also, Dole probably would have picked someone more conservative than him for VP as he did in '96, perhaps even Jack Kemp in 1988, or perhaps Senator Howard Baker of Tennessee.

I think Dole pretty easily, though Robertson gives him a run for his money at certain points, and some would want a Reaganite again, so I think Kemp actually would give him the hardest run for his money. Dole picks Kemp to be his VP, and they beat Dukakis by fairly decent margins, maybe not as big as Bush did against Dukakis in 88.

Okay guys, (or gals,) here's what you all have been waiting for! Enjoy!

February 1988 Democrats decide to announce their candidates:

Former Senator Paul Tsongas of Massachusetts

Former Senator Eugene McCarthy of Minnesota

Senator Bob Kerrey of Nebraska

Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas

Governor Jerry Brown of California

Governor Douglas Wilder of Virginia (as I was looking at his profile picture, I thought he looks like John McCain!!! D:

Senator Al Gore of Tennessee

Governor Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts

Former Senator Gary Hart of Colorado

Senator Joe Biden of Delaware

Reverend Jesse Jackson of South Carolina

Okay here's where I can't decide on who goes to the primaries, so you do! Okay so first pick four Reps for the primaries, then four Dems. (You could also pick five or six, but I'm trying to keep it short! )Cheesy

I have a question, to win the primaries, is it the number of states, or do the electoral votes count for the win of the primaries?
