HPs, and that possibility provides (yet another) argument for abolition of the EC.

My opinion of faithless electors is as negative as my opinion of the EC itself.

FF as long as they don't actually change the winner. Who doesn't like some intrigue in their elections?

Why do people actually vote still? Why not just make the vote tally automatic?

Most of the freedom fighters have been horrible people.

Anyway, I don't really have an opinion either way when it comes to faithless electors.  By the time they actually do their thing you know who's going to be elected, so one or two weird stray votes (like in 2000 when that Maryland woman refused to vote) doesn't change anything.

Freedom Fighters for exercising their freedom of conscience. They serve as a vestige of the suspicion of democracy that the country was originally founded upon.

HPs. As Franzl said, one of the arguments in favour of abolishing the EC.

Hale Boggs proposed this in 1968. Like every EC reform proposal it went nowhere.
