It's minutes after the concession speech on election night 2016, and the dust is just settling down.

The candidate's body man runs up to his boss with the phone. "It's for you, its Governor Romney on the line."

The next morning, Senator McCain calls, then Senator Kerry, then Vice President Gore, then Senator Dole, then President H.W Bush, then Governor Dukakis, then Senator Mondale and finally former President Carter...

If I were the losing candidate, those are probably the only people I'd feel like talking to because they're the only ones who could sympathize.
