Stop-and-frisk down 50% while murder rate drops to 60-year low

What a horrible mayor Bloomberg has been!

If Weiner got elected mayor of NYC he just might be a loose cannon at times in a leadership type of role. The guy was just a US House member he wasn't in any type of leadership role there. I know he wants actually the job of being Mayor of NYC he just not running to run though. He will be passionate(maybe too passionate-i.e. loose cannon) about the job on a day in day out basis.

Yeah... I don't think you can come back from a sex scandal while you're still clearly doing the sex scandal.

This is what pisses me off more than anything. And I know people that don't think there is anything wrong with that. The guy admits wrong doing, claims he's seeking help....then went back to doing this right after resigning.

New Q-poll:

First Round:
Weiner 26%
Quinn 22%
Thompson 20%
De Blasio 15%
Liu 7%
Albanese 1%

Thompson would beat Quinn and Weiner by 9% and 11% in a run-off. In a Quinn-Weiner runoff, Quinn leads 46 to 44.

Did anyone really think Weiner had stopped doing it? The only question was if he could hide it better. I guess not.

This could be de Blasio's moment. (A man can dream.)

In the Q-poll, if Weiner drops out it's Quinn 30%, Thompson 26%, de Blasio 21%. So he'd be in with a decent shot. Minority candidates usually do better than their polling in NYC elections, so a Thompson-de Blasio runoff would be interesting (and possible).

De Blasiomentum, according to Marist!

Among likely Democratic primary voters:

Quinn 26%
De Blasio 17%
Weiner 16%
Thompson 15%
Liu 7%

Question for NYers: who do you think is more likely to make the runoff- De Blasio or Thompson?

I hope either he or De Blasio is by the end of this.

Unless Weiner magically recovers, I think Thompson is basically guaranteed to get into the runoff off the strength of the black vote (and even based on polls pre-second scandal, Thompson still had a good shot of coming in second). I think the question is whether or not de Blasio can pick up enough of the Weiner vote to challenge Quinn for the other spot (probably not, but we can hope).
