Campaign Rally - Portland, Maine

It is good to be here today in Maine with my good friend and your former Governor Angus King!

My friends, we have a three-way race shaping up! Latest polls have Maine voting Bloomberg, and I cannot express how grateful I am to have your support. However, we cannot sit back now that we have a lead - we must continue to press forward like never before. Victory is in November for common-sense values! It's time to end the era of partisan politics in Washington, and with your help, we are going to do just that!

- Mayor Bloomberg at a rally in Portland, Maine
April 23rd:
Campaign Rally - Burlington, Vermont
Meet and Greet - Queensbury, New York
Meet and Greet - Saratoga Springs, New York
Town Hall Meeting - Albany, New York

April 24th:
March For Equality - Albany, New York
Meet and Greet - Kingston, New York
Meet and Greet - Newburgh, New York

April 25th-May 1st:
Mayoral Duties

May 2nd:
Meet and Greet - New Brunswick, New Jersey
Meeting with Small Business Owners - Red Bank, New Jersey
Meet and Greet - Wall Township, New Jersey
Town Hall Meeting - Brick, New Jersey

May 3rd:
Campaign Rally - Trenton, New Jersey

Meet and Greet - Northwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Town Hall Meeting - Norristown, Pennsylvania
Appearance on Glenn Beck

May 4th:
Private Meeting with Mayor Michael Nutter - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Meeting with NAACP Leaders - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Private Fundraiser - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Look, Mike, I know you're supporting Oprah, and between us, I'd like for her to be able to pull this thing out. But looking at the numbers, Dean probably has the nomination sealed up. I'm hoping I can count on your support in the General Election - I think, with you on board, we would have a real opportunity to bring African-American voters over to our camp. Our outreach will have to go beyond that - McCain currently has a substantial lead, so we'll have to figure out how to cut into that. The media may tell you otherwise, but looking at the size of our events and our internal numbers, this is a three-way race.
- Mayor Bloomberg, privately discussing strategy with Mayor Nutter

"Pennsylvania, its your turn. Some people would like you to believe that this race is over, that Governor Dean has won. Well he has no where near the amount of delegates necessary to be our nominee. In this campaign I have been the advocate for Change. I hope that you guys will choose that when you vote in the primary." -Obama in PA

"I've lived in Pennsylvania all my life. You guys gave me the chance to serve two years ago and I'm grateful for it. Now I'm gonna give you some advice: Elect Barack Obama. He is the only candidate in this race who possesses the talents and Pennsylvania common-sense to lead this nation and defeat the Bush-McCain-Cheney machine in November." - Sen. Casey at Obama Event

"Hey folks. I was born here in Scranton. I grew up here. In my decades in the Senate I've fought for the common worker. I'm supporting Barack in this election because he will do the same. He's fought the special interests and provide help to the families here in my hometown and across America."- Sen. Joe Biden

"Pennsylvania is one of the most devastated places in American by the Climate Crisis. The special interest and gas companies pollute our lands and then bribe politicians to forget about it. Well no more. Barack Obama will fix the CC, and provide well-paying Green Energy Jobs to the hardworking families in the Keystone State."- Vice-President Al Gore

"In the turbulent '60s my brother called for a new generation of leadership. Here in 2008, I echo that call in election Barack Obama President of the United States. Only he can fix this broken Health Care System, and secure the right of every American of affordable Health Insurance. Pennsylvania, you deserve a President who will help us achieve that goal. And Barack Obama, is that man."- Sen. Teddy Kennedy

"I've had a bunch of fun around the state with Senator Casey. Pennsylvania just might have the best bowling joints in the country!"- Obama

"I hope you've got the check Bob, I think I left my wallet at the Bowl-o-Rama."- Obama at Diner

News of the Week:

Obama working his heart out in Pennsylvania. Kennedy and Casey may have convinced some white working class Pennsylvanians. The big question is, who'll take Philadelphia black community? Will they vote for Oprah just like Nutter? Or has Obama won their vote?

John McCain gets the support of MS democratic Congressman Gene Taylor: "He may be a republican, but people in my district love him. He's a true hero, he's the only one who cares for us. Lincoln was the best we could get here, I voted for her, but she doesn't stand a chance. Obama/Lincoln is not a good fit for Mississippi either. Not to talk about Bloomberg. He's just wrong, dangerous for America, and specially for the South. He hates us".

Bloomberg keeps gaining momentum in the Northeast, six democratic mayors and one republican decide to support him in a joint press conference. They are:

John B. Callahan of Bethlehem (D-PA)
Gerald Jennings of Albany (D-NY)
Phil Amicone of Yonkers (R-NY)
Donald Cresitello of Morristown (D-NJ)
James A. Anzaldi of Clifton (D-NJ)
Jerramiah Healy of Jersey City (D-NJ)
Nicholas Mavodones of Portland (D-ME)

Gerald Jennings: "He's a fighter. He may be the mayor of NYC, but he's been working really hard to reduce gun violence all around the US. He's done more for this country than every other candidate".

Jerramiah Healy: "Just read his Wikipedia entry. He was a great businessman and now he's the best mayor NYC has ever had. That means he'll be a great President, don't you think?. As someone who's worked with him in "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" coalition I can say he's also a great leader. You know, I'm a democrat, but Bloomberg deserves my vote. Only Menino would be better than him hahaha...".

Dean campaign staffers sure he'll carry Pennsylvania, worried about Indiana.

Michael Bloomberg Television Ad: A Risk We Can't Afford to Take

I'm Michael Bloomberg, and I approve this message.

We've seen what the Bush-McCain policies have done to our nation's economy. Now, McCain wants to do the same with health care. McCain has praised Wall Street deregulation, promised to reduce oversight of health insurance agencies. With increasing costs and a broken system, the Bush-McCain healthcare plan is a prescription for disaster.

John McCain: A risk we cannot afford to take.

As part of an effort to expand the battleground map, the advertisement will run in the following states:

OOC: Undecideds tend to break the leader. By now I should have the fundraising advantage and the momentum, and support from both some of the antiwar crowd and the white working class. I convincingly won Ohio, and PA is a state where I'd naturally do better thanks to being more Northeastern. Why am I sinking?

I'll be honest. It's ecause I consider that Obama and Oprah posts have been better. Just look at the last posts and compare! That doesn't mean your posts are bad, of course. You are still leading and winning almost every state.

Obama Schedule for Week of May 5th
5/5/2008
-GOTV Efforts Statewide
-VRDs
-Rally in South Bend, IN
-Debate
"Tomorrow you have a choice between the Establishment, and Real Change. Make the right decision Indiana. Send a message to the status quo. We want affordable Health Insurance for every man, woman and child. We want comprehensive Immigration Reform to open our borders to the immigrants who've made this country great. We want Climate Legislation, so we can leave our children a planet worth living on. And we want out of Iraq, so we can nation-build where it really matters: at home."- Sen. Obama

"Now I know I haven't been the perfect candidate, and I won't be the perfect President. And the fine ladies and gentlemen on this stage tonight have run excellent campaigns, Governor Dean in particular. But he's convinced that because he has the backing of the Establishment, he should be nominee. Well the grassroots disagrees. Indiana, and people all over this country have a choice. Polls and endorsements released. Good luck Smiley

Oldies, you didn't update last week, so you spent your first week vacationing. It won't hurt your poll numbers as long as you don't do it again for, at least, some weeks.

OOC: Alright, Julio. It's just that Spamage didn't really take post quality into account, so I've slacked a bit. But here goes:

Governor Dean's Campaign Schedule, May 5th-11th:

May 5th:

-Rally in Jeffersonville, Indiana
-Rally in Shoals, Indiana
-Attend Debate in Indianapolis, Indiana

"When you go out to vote tomorrow, remember two things. Remember that with the party still split and Bush's third term looking more and more likely, that we need to come together as one to fight for the values we all support. Bush and McCain stand for more for the rich, less for the lower and middle classes, for war profiteering, for a health care system that tens of millions can't afford. I stand for ending this disastrous war in Iraq, for giving a hand up to the 99%, for making the most fortunate of us pay their fair share, for reforming our broken health care system. If you want those ideas to prevail in November, Hoosiers, we need to stop fighting each other and focus on taking back Washington!"

May 6th:

-GOTV operations in Evansville, Indiana with Congressman Brad Ellsworth
-Election Night Rally in Evansville, Indiana

"In this desperation to keep me from winning the nomination, all of a sudden I'm being pegged as the candidate of the establishment, and that the grassroots are backing Obama or Oprah. That's simply not true. Our campaign in 2004 pioneered the modern grassroots campaign. In 2006 as head of the DNC chair, support from grassroots was critical to taking back Congress. And we have by far more total votes than any other Democratic candidate. That isn't establishment support. That's the voice of the voters. And I'm confident that the Democrats of Indiana and North Carolina will deliver one more victory to prove it."

May 7th:

-Meet & Greet in Henderson, Kentucky
-Rally in Owensboro, Kentucky

May 8th:

-Meet & Greet in Leitchfield, Kentucky
-Rally in Elizabethtown, Kentucky
-Fundraiser in Louisville, Kentucky

May 9th:

-Rally in Louisville, Kentucky
-Town Hall in Frankfort, Kentucky
-Rally in Covington, Kentucky

"The Brent Spence Bridge carries 155,000 vehicles a day, but a closer look shows numerous structural deficiencies. That's because the infrastructure programs that built our highway system, our bridges, our dams, are underfunded. As president, I'll take a note from FDR and increase our investments in American infrastructure. Not only will this repair thousands of roads and bridges and build more, but it'll create thousands of new jobs across Kentucky and America."

May 10th:

-Rally in Huntington, West Virginia
-Meet & Greet in St. Albans, West Virginia
-Rally in Charleston, West Virginia with Senator Jay Rockefeller

May 11th:

-Meeting with Governor Joe Manchin (seeking endorsement) in Charleston, West Virginia
-Rally in Sutton, West Virginia
-Meet & Greet in Oak Hill, West Virginia
