Cmon Congresswoman Pelosi, please step down. We need (relatively) new blood in the House leadership.

I don't know about any of the other Dems here, but DWS makes me cringe. She has about as much appeal as saran wrap.

What are you talking about? Pelosi was inarguably one of the most effective Speakers of all time in terms of getting her agenda passed.

Hoyer would presumably be the "safe", dull choice to succeed her?

Anyways, thanks for the service but it's time to go.

I really do hate liberals pretending to hate Pelosi. She's been an excellent speaker and minority leader. If she steps down, hopefully we get another strong liberal.

I remember reading that she might stay on until mid-2013 to pave the way for a successor, dunno if that's what she's doing. Cause if she's serious about being Dem leader in 2014, Cheesy

I really didn't expect her to stay on for the next Congress, but she has my full support. She's been one of the best leaders Democrats could ask for. And Pelosi may rile up the right-wing, but she is not the reason we lost the House in 2010. This also keeps Hoyer away from the top, which is good news as well.

Yeah, because having as their leader the most effective speaker in a generation will certainly doom Democrats. Roll Eyes

She might be trying to screw with Hoyer. His retirement isn't too far off, either.

I hear if you dim the bathroom lights and recite "Nancy P-Losey!" ten times fast to the mirror, the frail, warped caricature of Pelosi that only conservatives can detect will appear and steal all your money.

I really like Nancy and she was a great Speaker. However, it's time for some change.

Yet, since her stepping down would probably elevate Hoyer, who isn't exactly a "change", it's better she's staying, at least for now.

This is truly great news. IMO, Nancy Pelosi is one of the better SOTH's we've had and her leadership will be greatly needed in this Congress and for POTUS.

More of the same. She stated Dems won't go over the fiscal cliff which means that they are willing to give up on raising the tax rates and go for the loopholes.

Probably just steadying the ship until it looks like the Dems can take back the House.

She slapped down Russert's question about her stepping aside for age and electoral reasons. Did have a valid point about McConnell being a 3-time majority loser too.

My thoughts exactly. Pulling for Becerra or Van Hollen to be ready to take over.
