Staate Treasurer Phil Angelides will run.  His platform will be that Arnold hasn't fixed the budget.  Even though this is basically true, Arnold will win in a walk anyway because he's Arnold, and who the hell is Phil Angelides anyway?

I am also a Californian, and I say its no big deal to go from 70% approve to 66% approve.

The redisctricting thind is quite popular, as are all the various campaign reform measures around the country.  Fighting corruption is popular.

The real purpose is to change from legislators in safe districts to competitive districts, so they will be more responsive to public opinion and not special interests.  This, along with open primaries, are Schwarzenegger's two pronged attack on the very extreme two parties in CA.  The CA Dems and Reps are very extreme, and more moderate primary winners and competitive districts change that.
