My Republican State Senator Kemp Hannon is sending out a mailer with a huge picture of himself and Cuomo, and the mailer is pretty much just about his work with Cuomo.  The seat is one of the ones targeted by the Dems to take over the State Senate.  Hannon did win big in 2010 and didn't face much of a challenge, but did have an unexpected tough race in 2008.  He will still likely win, but still kind of strange to see Hannon, who is  fairly partisan Republican having a mailer showcasing his work with Cuomo.

Not a bad idea. Swing voters love bipartisanship, of couse; he might also win a few votes from Democrats who don't like their party's nominee for whatever reason, assuming from this mailer that he's an inoffensive centrist RINO. I'm assuming he won't lose any Republican votes from this because I doubt this mailer mentions anything overtly liberal (and I'm assuming there's not someone else running on the Conservative line, so it's not like they have a better option anyway).

FWIW, this is precisely the type of thing you should do as a Republican in a Democratic seat.

Hannon isn't that centrist, the district itself it almost split between Dems and the GOP.  With that being said Cuomo's approvals are through the roof so that likely had quite a bit to do with it.

If Hannon isn't a moderate, then associating himself with Cuomo is all the more crucial.
